This program, run thorough a partnership between Carillon and the Virginia Department of Social Services, helps qualifying adults in Medicaid get nutrient-rich local veggies. Foods like these can transform the lives of people with Type 2 diabetes and other diseases.

A conversation from a few years ago with one of my coworkers...
Megan: “You know, really I’m looking for a place that I can feel healthy again. Menopause is kicking my butt.”
Me, thinking to myself: “Whew! Thank goodness I’m only 39 and I don’t have to think about this yet!”
Megan, reading my mind: “You’ll be there soon.”
Gulp!

Well, Megan got right on it and coordinated a free movie screening of the documentary Balance: A Perimenopause Journey.
We're hosting it at the Lyric on 9/19 at 11 am for free!

That's a pretty big deal for a small farm like us. But we're thrilled to support women's health, in nutrition and otherwise. And we hope you'll be there.
