Doug Hughes will be teaching another round of Retirement Planning Today courses in early October at Ivy Tech Center for Lifelong Learning - a two-week, two-night course that covers a variety of financial topics!

Retirement Planning Today is designed for individuals ages 50-70 (although anyone may attend) who want to get a high-level review of retirement planning. A variety of topics are discussed, including retirement roadblocks, retirement income, estate planning, insurance and more.

There are two course options available:

📘 Tuesdays, October 6 and 13 - 6:00 to 8:30 pm - In-person
📙 Wednesdays, October 7 and 14 - 6:00 to 8:30 pm - In-person or virtual

It's happening more and more - a scammer gets into someone's computer or phone, convinces the owner to click a couple buttons and suddenly the hacker has full access to the device. Then the hacker starts getting into personal information, including photos, apps, notes and other details - potentially stealing valuable personal information.

We want to make sure our clients, their families and friends as well-protected and informed as possible, so we periodically share links and information to help prevent those threats.

It's hard to imagine a world without Dolly Parton. Her music, her writing, her acting, her big blonde hair, her laughter, her generosity... and while her physical presence may be gone, so much of her lives on forever. Looks like some construction may cause some delays for the next week or so. Please be careful in your travels!

Heads up, Bloomington! Third Street between Walnut Street and College Avenue will be closed for a week starting Tuesday, August 25, as work continues on the Bloomington Convention Center.

This closure will allow crews to build new curbs, sidewalks, crosswalks, medians, asphalt paving, and a bus pull-off—improvements that will make our streets safer and more accessible for everyone.

Please plan ahead for detours and give yourself a little extra time to get where you’re going.

Once complete, the expanded Convention Center will help our city attract more conferences and events, bringing more visitors to local hotels, restaurants, and shops—boosting our economy, especially during slower times of year.

The City of Bloomington is facilitating the street closure, but is not leading the construction project itself.
