While I was cleaning a customer’s gutters, I noticed that their outdoor AC unit was completely frozen with ice buildup around the refrigerant line. I immediately notified the customer and recommended turning the AC off to prevent further damage to the compressor, which could have resulted in a very expensive repair or even replacement of the entire unit.
The next day, I came back to inspect the system and found a bad contactor. I replaced the contactor, and the AC was back up and running properly!
I also found a dead mouse around the electrical wiring, which I safely removed and cleaned up.
A small problem caught early can save you thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs or replacement.
If you notice your outdoor AC unit or furnace is frozen, not working properly, or making unusual noises, turn it off from the thermostat and give me a call.
