Your instincts don't clock out when you do.

Kolbe Certified™ Consultants do incredible work helping teams understand and use their conative strengths.

But your MO doesn't stop at the office door.

The same wiring that shapes how you work shapes how you parent, communicate, and show up at home.

Here's the story of one Kolbe Consultant whose understanding of her family's instincts made a real difference in how she raised her kids.

Not speaking up in meetings doesn't make you an imposter.

In our FIRST episode of Powered by Instinct: Private Sessions, David Kolbe sat down with Tron Smith, who shared that she rarely asks questions during team meetings.

Instead, she writes them down and asks them later in a one-on-one setting.

David's advice was simple:

If you have questions, don't lose track of them. Write them down.

Ask them later if that's the environment where you're most comfortable gathering information.

Too often, people assume there's something wrong with them because they don't participate in the way the "status-quo" says to. But there isn't!

The goal isn't to ask questions the way someone else would.

The goal is to get the information you need in the way you need to do it.

Try this today:

• Keep a running list of questions during meetings
• Review them afterward
• Follow up in the setting that works best for you

You don't need to change how you naturally gather information.

You need a system that helps you act on it.

Did you miss the first episode of our new Private Sessions podcast? Tune into it today!

Before you call someone "nosy," maybe there's another part to the story.

What if they're actually the reason your team has the right answers? 🤔

In our FIRST episode of Powered by Instinct: Private Sessions, David Kolbe sat down with Tron Smith to discuss her Kolbe A™ result: 7-5-4-3.

That 7 score reveals she's an Answer Authority.

She's naturally driven to gather LOTS of information, ask LOTS of questions, and share insights.

As David puts it, Tron isn't a "just take a guess" person.

She's a "show me the data" person.

This story is a prime example of mislabeling our instinctive strengths:

• Nosy instead of curious
• Slow instead of thorough
• Detailed instead of informative

But 7-10s in Fact Finder need information before they move forward. There's nothing wrong with that hesitation because it's how they naturally solve problems.

Tune in to this episode of Powered by Instinct: Private Sessions to hear David and Tron unpack what it really means to be an Answer Authority.

The instincts that led you in your 20s are still running the show in your 40s and beyond.

Researchers at Arizona State University wanted to know if instinctive strengths change over time, so they conducted a study that tested people’s MOs 20 years apart.

The answer: Quite clearly, your instinctive strengths remain a constant throughout your life.

Once you know, you know!

Ever notice how some people on your team jump straight to building, while others are the ones keeping everything from falling apart, and others just seem to envision a solution before anyone else?

These are three very different instincts.

And when you know which one you're working with, putting the right people on the right problems gets a lot easier.

Your skills can grow.

Your personality and preferences can evolve.

But do your instincts change?

A study was conducted over 20 years to see if your MO remains the same over time.

The result was clear. Your instinctive strengths are reliable and unchanging.
