MANDARINA STUDIO Mandarina Studio is a Boston-based, full-service interior design firm known for creating interiors that feel composed, thoughtful, and deeply livable.

Amanda Reid founded Boston-based Mandarina Studio to create an interior design business built on creativity and collaboration. Amanda brings 15 years of experience, taking the lead on all projects and working closely with clients to craft design solutions for inspiring spaces. Only a select number of projects are taken on at time to ensure Amanda can build the personal relationship and give each project its essential commitment and attention. Amanda’s expertise, imagination and enthusiasm guide projects ranging from creating the perfect space for a new local business to refreshing an established retail store or restaurant to refining homes during renovation or new construction. The studio’s diverse portfolio is built on strong client relationships, personal attentiveness, the flexibility to find the right solutions, and an eye for the details to make each space speak to its unique purpose. Clay-covered hands, long afternoons at the wheel, and delicious farm lunches in the Italian countryside.

I first met Eric Landon of at his Copenhagen studio in September 2018, before I started working with ceramics. I bought two of his pieces that day and still treasure them.

I’ve been practicing ceramics on and off for several years, but finding uninterrupted time is another matter. So I went to Italy for ten days to do exactly that.

I’ve always admired Eric’s forms and glazes, but watching him work is something else. There’s an extraordinary ease to the way he moves the clay. He makes it look effortless. Getting my own hands to follow will take considerably more practice.

Making, learning, laughing, and meeting wonderful people from around the world. Already thinking about the next workshop.

Grey and white alone don’t make a home. They’re a foundation, not a finish.
 
Your space needs to reflect who you are. This includes the colors you’re drawn to, the patterns that make you pause, the materials that feel good to touch. A home should be shaped by the people living in it, not by what’s safe or what photographs well.

Historic homes don’t need to feel like museums. They need to feel like homes.
 
This Craftsman residence was reimagined for comfort and everyday living. A restored inglenook gives the space history. A softened palette and layered furnishings make the scale feel approachable. Custom cabinetry and handcrafted tile turn the kitchen and breakfast room into true gathering spaces. Upstairs, the private spaces balance quiet with personality.
 
The result is a home that respects where it came from while living fully in the present. Rooms that flow naturally. Materials that get better with age. Color and pattern held by strong bones.

His-and-hers bathrooms don’t need to match. They need to feel like the people using them.
 
Her bath is layered with white cabinetry, botanical wallpaper, brass hardware and marble countertops.
 
His bath is restrained with muted green cabinetry, polished nickel fittings, a metal-legged console sink and traditional English precedent.
 
Same suite. Same marble. Same brass and nickel anchoring them both to the larger plan. But distinct approaches, distinctly held.
