YouTube to Label AI Songs.

This is a huge deal for creators.

YouTube is now labeling music that is primarily AI-generated — and that matters because the internet is becoming harder and harder to trust.

Bots. Fake engagement. AI-generated songs. AI-generated artists. AI-generated images. Even social followings can be manufactured.

There was a time when the industry looked at your follower count and assumed it meant something. Now? Who the hell knows what’s real anymore?

That makes transparency more valuable, not less.

As more of the internet becomes automated and synthetic, I think the premium is going to move toward something increasingly scarce:

actual human beings creating real work and building real relationships with real audiences.

AI is not going away. Nor should it.
