As temperatures rise, so does the risk of heat-related illness.

Whether you're working outdoors, tackling a project at home, or enjoying time outside, heat stress can sneak up on you quickly.

Stay safe this summer by:
💧 Drinking water frequently
🧢 Wearing light-colored, breathable clothing
🌳 Taking breaks in the shade or air conditioning
⚠️ Watching for signs of heat exhaustion like dizziness, headache, nausea, or excessive sweating

☀️ SUMMER BREAK SAFETY 🦺

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but these transformer boxes are NOT the perfect base for tag this summer. You see them in neighborhoods every day, maybe even in your own yard. They're part of your electrical system that delivers power to nearby homes and businesses.

As utility locators, we often work around these types of equipment and know how important it is to give them plenty of space. Transformers should never be climbed on, opened, or blocked by landscaping, toys, or other items. Keeping the area clear also helps your local utility access them quickly and safely when maintenance or repairs are needed.

Help us keep everyone safe this summer by treating transformer boxes as off-limits play areas. (Sorry, kids!) Thanks to AES Indiana for having their equipment pose so nicely for us 😄

This morning, a few of our Indianapolis office employees spent time at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens placing flags at the gravesites of veterans ahead of Memorial Day.

As we walked the grounds, we took time to look up many of the men and women laid to rest there and learn more about their stories, service, and sacrifices. It was a humbling reminder that Memorial Day is more than a long weekend.

At Blood Hound, we’re proud to support and hire veterans who continue to lead, serve, and make an impact in our communities every day.

We’re still coming down from all the excitement of the Kids Building Wisconsin event last week! With more than 12,000 people in attendance, it was incredible to see so many kids and families exploring the world of construction, infrastructure, and skilled trades through hands-on experiences and equipment demonstrations.

We're always proud to be part of events focused on inspiring the next generation and showing just how many exciting career paths exist beyond the tradition college route.
