Music Editor & Composer Mark Adler recently picked up a Sanken CU-55 from us and sent over this shot of it set up a Kantele.

Mark has a long list of credits, ranging from classics like Amadeus and Blue Velvet to his Emmy-winning score for HBO’s The Rat Pack and Oscar-nominated documentaries like Food, Inc.

His take on the CU-55?

“It sounds great. I recorded cello and violin with it, plus I also mic’d them both with a large diaphragm tube mic. Confirmed by both musicians, it was hard to tell the difference between the two!”

The CU-55 is a total sleeper mic. When a compact condenser holds its own against a big tube mic on strings, it’s definitely doing something right.

It’s not every day you get to handle a true grail piece. We just took delivery of this vintage Neumann M50 Decca set, and the condition is absolutely pristine.

This isn’t just a standard trio. This matched LCR set has been custom-modified by Klaus Heyne, pulling an already legendary omni mic into an entirely different tier of detail and phase coherence.

The set is fully complete and ready for heavy tracking. It includes the original power supplies, plus a set of modern Peak Power units to keep the noise floor dead quiet and the power delivery rock solid.

If you know what an M50 Decca Tree is capable of on a tracking floor, you know how rarely a complete, Klaus-modded set like this surfaces.

Inside House Post’s Mix Theater. While Edit Bay 1 handles 5.1 surround workflows, this multipurpose stage is built for full-scale playback, edit, color, and immersive sound.

The room is built around a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos system powered entirely by PMC’s ci series: ci140s for the LCR, a ci140 SUB anchoring the low end, ci65s for the surrounds, and ci30s overhead. Because the entire ci series is voiced identically, the phase coherence is absolute. Objects pan seamlessly through the room without any tonal shift.

Visually and acoustically, the space is dialed. The walls are color-drenched in a deep, matte finish to eliminate screen glare during critical color sessions.

It’s a highly accurate, comfortable immersive room whether you’re doing critical work or playing PS5 after.

We just got in front of the Solid State Logic Odyssey for the first time, and it’s safe to say we’re impressed. It brings every feature you could ever want in a large-format console, and then some.

The Odyssey is fully integrated at PMC Studios and ready for the official launch party tonight.

The Great Genelec Debate—Flat vs SAM.

We just pulled these 8340A SAMs off the showroom floor right after a client demo. When we demo these, we like to set them to be completely “Flat”, it’s the best way to showcase the raw, transparent power of the speaker itself.

Once in your studio, Smart Active Monitoring (SAM) tunes the speaker to your room, it maps your specific acoustics, optimizing levels, delay, and frequency response for a perfectly balanced workspace.
