Nationwide multi-agency & attorney approach — casting a wider net since 2008. You shouldn't have to navigate adoption alone. At Faithful Adoption Consultants, we are a team of faith-based adoption consultants who walk alongside hopeful adoptive families through every step of domestic adoption — from your very first question to placement day and beyond. What sets FAC apart is our approach. Instead

of working with a single agency, we take a nationwide, multi-agency and attorney approach — partnering with agencies and attorneys across the country to cast a wider net of opportunities for our clients. More partnerships mean more doors open for your family. Here's what working with FAC looks like:
→ A personal consultant dedicated to your family
→ Connections to trusted home study providers
→ Guidance through every document and requirement
→ Funding resources and adoption training information
→ Vetted opportunities from our partner agencies and attorneys, sent directly to you from your personal consultant
→ Answers to your questions and close support from the beginning, in the waiting, through placement, and beyond

We've been walking with families since 2008. This work is not just what we do — it's what we're called to do. If you're ready to take a first step, or simply ready to ask your first question, we'd love to talk.

18 years ago, today, FAC was founded because hopeful adoptive families needed someone in their corner.

What we didn’t fully anticipate was how much this road would change us in return.

This week we’re celebrating 18 years of faithful adoption consulting — and sharing what nearly two decades of cases, calls, matches, placements, heartbreaks, and moments that took our breath away has taught us.

About faith. About people. About holding the hard and the beautiful at the same time.

✈️ The “H” Family is Matched & Traveling!

Not every milestone gets shared the moment it happens — and that is okay. Every family’s journey is different, and sometimes the most honoring thing we can do is hold space, sit with the sacredness of a moment, and share when the time is right.

Today is that day for the “H” family.

The “H” family matched with a courageous expectant mama, and in the weeks since, they have been loving her well, walking alongside her, and preparing their hearts for what lies ahead.

Today they are traveling — and we could not be more thrilled to finally celebrate them with all of you.

As we share this news, our hearts are equally with this incredible mama. She is walking one of life’s most courageous journeys with such strength and grace, and she is so worthy of every prayer this community has to offer.

Would you join us in celebrating and covering this story in prayer?

Pray for this courageous expectant mama — that she would feel covered, held, and at peace in the days ahead. Pray for her precious baby. And pray for the “H” family as they travel with hopeful and open hearts, trusting the Lord with every step of this sacred season.

Most families don’t arrive at adoption with a clear roadmap.

They arrive with a question. Sometimes more than one.

Is this the right path for us? Where do we even begin? What does this actually look like?

Those questions are exactly where FAC starts. Not with paperwork or timelines — but with a real conversation about where you are and what you’re hoping for.

If Tuesday’s post answered some questions and raised a few new ones — that’s okay. Adoption is worth asking thoughtful questions about.

We’d love to be the next conversation you have.

One of the things we have watched our families do — over and over, across years of walking this road — is choose to honor first parents not simply because an agreement asks them to, but because they understand that openness can be part of loving their child well.

Sometimes that looks like photos and updates sent faithfully year after year. Sometimes it’s a visit that feels sacred and hard and beautiful all at once. Sometimes it’s continuing to hold the door open — and holding a first family in prayer — even when contact has faded.

Because openness is more than an agreement to fulfill.

It’s a relationship to steward.

And when circumstances allow, we have watched families choose to steward those relationships with incredible tenderness, respect, and love.

To honor the people and relationships that are part of their child’s story — and to give their child the freedom to know, value, and hold every part of that story as their own.

Because love chooses to honor.

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
— Romans 12:10

If openness is part of your family’s story, we’d love for you to leave a heart below.

Today we’re praying for adoptees, first families, and adoptive families — for wisdom, grace, healthy relationships, and hearts that continue choosing to honor one another well.

A story more than a decade in the making.

The “O” family’s story with FAC began in January 2014, when she stepped into her first adoption journey with FAC by her side. Later that year, she matched and became a mama.

But the story we’re sharing today is about what happened after adoption.

Her relationship with her daughter’s first mom didn’t become what it is today overnight. In fact, it took about 18 months to really begin developing. It started with short visits in public places and, over time, grew into spending time together in one another’s homes.

She left the door open. And a relationship had room to grow.

Then that circle grew, too.

When her daughter was 15 months old, she connected with the adoptive family raising her biological brother. Those families chose to stay connected—visiting one another, staying in one another’s homes, and creating space for these siblings to grow up knowing one another.

And a few years later, when their first mom was expecting again, she called this mama and asked if she would parent another daughter.

In 2018, their family grew again.

Today, their openness includes a first mom, biological siblings, adoptive siblings, and another adoptive family—all woven into a relationship that has grown and changed over more than a decade.

This isn’t what every open adoption will look like. That’s actually the point.

Openness isn’t a formula. Relationships grow differently. They change with seasons. Sometimes they’re close, sometimes they’re quiet, and sometimes they become something you never could have pictured at the beginning.

That’s why we talk so much about leaving the door open.

You can’t force someone else to walk through it. You can’t control what the relationship will look like years from now.
But you can choose to keep making room for a relationship.

And the “O” family’s story is a pretty beautiful picture of what can grow when you do.

If you’re living open adoption, what has your relationship grown into that you never could have pictured at the beginning? We’d love to hear your story.

If Tuesday’s post brought up questions you weren’t sure how to ask — that’s exactly what this team is here for.

Open adoption looks different for every family. And between the three of us, we’ve personally walked through a lot of those differences.

Here’s what we’ve experienced:

Deep, beautiful openness and relationships with first families that have grown over the years.
Adoptions where there has been no contact from the beginning.
Relationships that began with the hope of continued openness but were ultimately closed by first families — even when our desire for that relationship remained.
The ache of wishing a closed adoption could be open, and we’ve seen firsthand why openness, when it can be healthy, can matter so deeply for a child.

And within each of these, we’ve navigated different levels of communication, different boundaries, and different relationships within each of our children’s individual stories — always keeping their needs and best interests at the center.

Through all of it, one thing has shaped the way we approach openness in our own families:

We leave the door open.

Even when contact becomes inconsistent. Even when a relationship changes. Even when a first family chooses distance for a season — or indefinitely.

We can’t control whether someone chooses to walk through that door. But when it is safe and healthy for our children, we can choose not to be the ones who close it.

There isn’t one version of open adoption. And we don’t just understand that professionally. We lived it personally.

That’s part of why we’re so passionate about helping families approach openness without fear — but also without pretending it’s always simple.

It can be beautiful. It can be complicated. It can change over time. And sometimes, it can be heartbreaking.

But healthy openness is a relationship worth learning how to steward well.

If you have questions, bring them. The honest ones. The uncomfortable ones. The ones you’re afraid might sound wrong.

There are no wrong questions here.

✈️ The “B” Family is Traveling!

If you’ve been following the “B” family’s journey, you know it has not been without its hard moments. This road has asked a lot of them — and they have met every single moment of it with faithfulness, grace, and a trust in the Lord that has never wavered.

Today, they are traveling — and we are cheering them on with everything we have.

The “B” family is stepping into one of adoption’s most tender and sacred spaces, ready to stand beside a courageous expectant mama in the significant days ahead. The difficulty of this journey has never changed the way they have shown up — for this process, for this mama, and for the Lord who has guided every step.

As we celebrate this family traveling, our hearts are equally with this incredible mama. She is walking this season with such courage and strength, and she is so worthy of every prayer we can lift on her behalf.

Would you join us in covering this story in prayer?

Pray for this courageous expectant mama — that she would feel covered, held, and at peace in the days ahead. Pray for her precious baby. And pray for the “B” family as they travel with the same steadfast and faithful hearts that have carried them through every hard moment of this journey.
