A major shift is happening in the solar industry.

Freedom Forever, one of the largest residential solar installers in the U.S., has officially filed for bankruptcy(Source: Solar Power World, 2026) adding them to a growing list including SunPower, Pink Energy, Violet Energy, and others.

And they’re not alone.

Across the country, large national solar companies are facing layoffs, restructuring, and in some cases, shutting down altogether.

Not because solar doesn’t work…
But because many of these companies grew too fast... and couldn’t sustain it.
