I love this new business milestone we just passed! Signing our first few businesses up for micro-offices in Casper, Wyoming!

This has been about a year in the making. It started with our own difficulties trying to start an online business in the US as foreigners. Blocked by the mistake we made choosing a cheap virtual address form our registered agent.

Then it was months of planning , visiting Wyoming and meeting our real estate agent John Trost at Broker One in Casper. He found us our building and we moved in October of 2025. It was an empty pallet. Dave, a carpenter for decades in Canada, had fun designing the layout and overseeing the build.

Months of building followed to create our micro-offices. All while jumping through the hoops of preparing for an E2 Visa so as Canadians, we can come to run the business in the US. That's a story for another day!

Now we are up and running, open and ready for business! We just signed our first few businesses up! One is working with Rob at Digital Marketing Partner on a Google Business Profile Verification.

Each client gets an individual, lockable small sq foot office suite with a commercial lease. We have community workspace and conference rooms to add on.

Need a warm introduction to a big US brick and mortar bank and their payment processing partner? We do that too.

Need help getting a Google Business Profile verified? We work closely with Digital Marketing Partner to arrange that.

We are happy to answer questions if you think our micro-office solution just might work for your business. In the Casper area? Come on in and have a look around!

How does US banks getting fined $4.5 billion dollars in 2024 make it harder for small businesses (especially online and international) trying to get paid by US customers?

It's a bit of a long and complicated story but to break it down simply...

Step 1. The federal government cracked down. After years of shell companies and anonymous LLCs being used to launder money, the US passed the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020. It required financial institutions to verify who owns every business they serve and where that business operates.

Step 2. Banks got serious, fast. When the fines for non-compliance hit $4.5 billion globally in 2024, banks stopped taking chances. They tightened their requirements for what counts as a legitimate business address. A real, verifiable, physical location. Not a mailbox. Not a registered agent. Not a suite that exists only on paper.

Step 3. Payment processors followed. Stripe, PayPal, Mercury, Relay — they all depend on those same banks. So they updated their policies to match. Virtual addresses, PO boxes, and commercial mail receiving agencies are now explicitly rejected for many products in their own documentation.

Step 4. Collateral damage for small business, especially those that don't have the "normal" brick and mortar business footprint- international entrepreneurs, US digital nomads, location-independent professionals and consultants.

A virtual address, PO box or using the registered agent's address used to be ok when you don't have a an actual storefront or office. Not now, with these tightening regulations.

We see it in increased scrutiny during account openings, rejections, and frozen accounts.

We created something to help those small businesses caught in the crossfire. Small square foot physical "micro-offices" in Wyoming backed by a commercial lease. Not virtual. Not a registered agent address. A real physical, individual , not shared, lockable space.

If your business is using a PO box or home address you may be leaving money on the table.

Local banks and credit unions look at your business address as part of their lending criteria. A PO box raises questions.

A home address can complicate things further. A commercial address tells them you are operating a legitimate established business.

Google feels the same way. A verified Google Business Profile with a real commercial address puts you on the map literally. It drives local search visibility, builds customer trust and opens the door to Google advertising that a PO box simply cannot.

There is also the privacy side of it. Your home address on public business filings means anyone can find where you live. A commercial address keeps that separation clean.

A real business address is not just a formality. It protects your privacy, strengthens your banking relationships and makes sure customers can actually find and trust you.

Casper has options. You do not need to compromise.

We are not your registered agent. And that's a good thing.

Every business entity (LLC or Corporation) in the US needs one. They are there to accept legal mail. It's a compliance requirement. Not optional.

The problem comes when your business address is also the address of your registered agent. Many big registered agent companies have tens of thousands of businesses sharing that address. Its a big red flag to banks and payment processors.

Your business needs two addresses. One is the address where legal mail can be sent (RA address). The other is your actual business address. That's what we provide in Wyoming at MicroOffice Solutions.

The other thing we are not is a virtual address. We provide real physical office space in Wyoming backed by a commercial lease. Yes, it's small, but you can put your equipment in it, put your sign on the door, get a Google Business Profile and invite your banker to visit. Can't do that with a virtual office!

What about banking? Can you get a business bank account using a virtual address or a RA address? Sure, it often works, but more and more, it isn't working.

Banks and payment processors are tightening regulations in response to Federal Anti-Money Laundering regulations. They scrutinize your business details, including your address. They know what's real and what isn't. They know when your address is shared by 20,000 others. An address that triggers red flags is a risk.

The Problem Isn’t Your Business—It’s Your Setup

Thousands of legitimate businesses are getting blocked by banks and payment processors.

Not because of what they do…
But because of how they’re set up.

-Virtual addresses.
-Shared office locations.
-No verifiable physical presence.

That’s all it takes to get flagged.

Today, financial institutions expect more—real, compliant infrastructure that proves your business is legitimate.

💡That’s why MicroOffice Solutions exists.

We provide lease-backed office space designed specifically to meet modern KYC/KYB and verification requirements, without the cost or complexity of traditional office leases.

If you’re serious about building a compliant, scalable business, this is where it starts.
