Yesterday, our team had the pleasure of traveling to Raleigh to attend the “Moving Forward with Purpose” Conference 2026 – Building Business Resilience, presented by our sister program, the Women’s Business Center of North Carolina - WBCNC .
It was a fabulous and dynamic conference filled with meaningful conversations, valuable insights, and opportunities to connect with fellow leaders and advocates supporting women entrepreneurs across North Carolina.

We were also delighted to see the posters from the Carolina Women Business Owners Hall of Fame and even more thrilled to celebrate some exciting news of our own! 🎉
We are incredibly proud to share that our very own Executive Director, Rocio Gonzalez Z, has been inducted into the 2026 Hall of Fame and will receive the Advocate Award at their Gala on October 17. 🏆

This recognition is a wonderful testament to Rocio’s continued commitment to advocating for women entrepreneurs, strengthening the small business ecosystem, and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to thrive.
Please join us in congratulating Rocio on this well-deserved honor! We look forward to celebrating with our community on October 17.

What a great afternoon of learning, connection, and collaboration! 🙌

Yesterday, we were pleased to welcome 30 entrepreneurs and small business owners to our Grow Your Business with SBA workshop, where participants gained valuable insights into SBA lending programs, funding opportunities, Made in America and Onshoring initiatives, and resources designed to help small businesses grow and compete.

Beyond the information shared, one of the highlights was seeing participants actively engage, ask questions, exchange ideas, and network with one another—building connections that can lead to new opportunities, partnerships, and continued growth.

A special thank you to Aregnaz Mooredian from the U.S. Small Business Administration – North Carolina District Office for sharing practical information and resources to help our entrepreneurs move their businesses forward with greater confidence.

At the Women’s Business Center of Charlotte, we believe that when entrepreneurs have access to knowledge, resources, and a supportive network, businesses—and communities—grow stronger.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an engaging session! We look forward to continuing to connect our small business community with the resources they need to succeed. 💼🤝

Newsflash! 🌟 Community Impact in Action!

We are honored that the Women's Business Center of Charlotte (WBCC) was invited by the Philanthropy & Community Impact team at Wells Fargo to participate in their Community Impact Hour, thanks to Wells Fargo employees who nominated our organization.

We had the opportunity to share how WBCC is making a difference across our region through business education, coaching, and resources that help entrepreneurs start, grow, and strengthen their businesses.

Nine nonprofit organizations presented their missions and competed for a $10,000 grant. Congratulations to the three winners: Lion Services Ltd., Out For Youth, and Center of Charlotte 🎉

Although WBCC did not take home the $10,000 prize, we are incredibly grateful to Wells Fargo for recognizing the work of all participating organizations and providing $2,500 grants to the other six nonprofits.

That’s a total of $45,000 invested in the Charlotte community! ❤️

Thank you, Wells Fargo, for investing in the organizations that are strengthening our community and creating opportunities for a brighter future. We are proud to be part of it! 🙌

Today, we say farewell to Sheila Obregon and celebrate the incredible impact she has made through the National Institute of Minority Economic Development and the Women's Business Center of Charlotte.

Throughout her time with us, Sheila has led with passion, built meaningful connections, and championed women entrepreneurs across our region. From educational programs and networking events to one-on-one support, her dedication has helped countless small business owners take the next step in their entrepreneurial journey.

Sheila, thank you for your leadership, your heart for service, and the lasting difference you've made in our team, our clients, and our community. While we'll miss you, we couldn't be more excited to see where your next chapter takes you.
