The Counselors of Real Estate is an 1,100 member international organization comprised of the world’s leading practitioners in commercial real estate. Membership is by invitation only in recognition of an individual’s standing in real estate and proven ability as a ranking problem solver in the field of real property. Particularly unique to The Counselors is its multi-disciplinary composition which

lends itself to a professional diversity, “big picture” thinking, and exceptional knowledge of real estate. Our members hold the CRE credential and are seasoned, experienced senior real estate decision makers; they are a diverse group with a variety of backgrounds. Members include practitioners of prominent real estate, financial, legal and accounting firms as well as leaders of government and academia. The organization is known for its thought leadership, extraordinary professional reach, an uncompromising commitment to high ethical standards and objective identification of the issues and trends most likely to impact real estate now and in the future. This Forum is a community for Counselors of Real Estate and others interested in real estate and real estate advisory services. We ask that you follow our guidelines to ensure a good experience for all:

The CRE® Consulting Corps is in New Kensington, PA, this week as community leaders have requested assistance in repurposing Penn State University's 64-acre campus. Penn State will close seven Commonwealth Campuses, including New Kensington, after the 2026-27 academic year but will continue long-term investment in 13 others.

The CRE® Foundation is a supporter of The Foothill Catalog Foundation, a nonprofit organization of building professionals whose mission is to create a more streamlined path for residents to rebuild. The Foothill Catalog is a collection of pre-approved home designs for displaced residents to rebuild quickly and affordably, while retaining community identity and local architectural character.

Cheers to Marilee Utter, CRE®, on receiving ULI Colorado's Legacy for Lifetime Achievement Award. The honor celebrates Marilee's lasting impact on Denver’s built environment and her transformative work at the intersection of land use, transit, and public/private collaboration. She also served as the Urban Land Institute's first executive director of District Councils and helped strengthen and grow the councils into a cornerstone of ULI. Robert J. Nahigian, CRE®, right, spoke this week on commercial leasing to an aspiring class of seniors and juniors at the Boston College Joseph E. Corcoran Center For Real Estate And Urban Action. More than 100 students applied to the highly competitive summer series 5-week program with only 26 being accepted. Rob will return for the Fall semester to teach the college's Commercial Leasing: Strategies and Best Practices course.
