Progress on the New Richmond Liberty Landing project continues, and today was a reminder of the challenges that can come with revitalizing historic river communities where underground infrastructure installed decades ago is not always precisely documented.

While excavating for new curbs and streetscape improvements, a gas line was inadvertently struck. Duke Energy, Village of New Richmond officials, public safety personnel, and project safety teams responded immediately and professionally to secure the area and address the situation.

Most importantly, no one was injured, and we are very thankful for the quick response and cooperation of everyone involved. Work is expected to resume as soon as it is safe to do so.

Projects of this scale and age often uncover surprises beneath the surface, but each step moves us closer to a transformed and safer riverfront for the community and visitors alike. Thank you to residents, businesses, and travelers for your patience and understanding during construction.

🌳 Trees are going in the ground at Higginsport’s Slim Sallee Park!

Progress continues on this exciting community project as balled-and-burlapped trees arrive and planting gets underway. It’s exciting to watch this space come to life — concrete paths are in, infrastructure is taking shape, and now the greenery is starting to tell the story of what this park will become for the Higginsport community.

Projects like this don’t happen without investment in rural Appalachian Ohio. We’re grateful for the support of the Appalachian Community Grant Program for making this vision a reality.

Stay tuned — the best is yet to come! 🌿☁️

🚧 Big progress happening on the New Richmond Liberty Landing Project! 🌊🏗️

New sidewalks, riverfront improvements, streetscape work, and business investments are transforming the village one block at a time.

A huge THANK YOU to our local businesses and residents for their patience during construction. These are tough months with disruption right outside their doors, but many are also investing in their own properties and helping build an exciting future for New Richmond! 👏

NGOgro is proud to serve as Owner’s Representative on this transformational project. The future riverfront is going to be incredible! 🇺🇸

A Ripley Riverfront landmark is coming back to life after decades of neglect!

Work is now underway on the former Riviera and Rockin Robins buildings on Front Street, as Bucky Ingram begins a major restoration effort that is already transforming the block. What was once deteriorating and forgotten is now showing real signs of renewal and investment in Ripley’s future.

This is exactly the kind of momentum our community hoped the Riverfront investments would inspire — public investment helping stimulate private development, preservation, and new energy in the village.

Exciting days ahead for Ripley’s historic riverfront!
