I feel the same way about those in Congress who are resigning in droves.

Plenty of Congresses have been unpopular, but the 118th Congress has been so unpopular for lawmakers themselves that an unprecedented number are quitting midterm.

I was interviewed yesterday regarding the resignation of Citrus Heights City Council Member Bret Daniels. I think resigning from the City Council for the second time is wrong. I believe his reasoning is flawed and insufficient. Personal or family health issues come to mind or an opportunity to serve in a "higher office". The political reasons given by Mr. Daniels are, in my mind, insufficient and dishonest. I have disagreed with Mr. Daniels on many issues over the years. I think disagreement is good and healthy. My disagreement has now turned to disrespect because he has shown disdain for the people he was elected to serve. It has been a while since I last posted the US Debt Clock https://www.usdebtclock.org/ We have slid past 35 Trillion Dollars. In case you are wondering, that is 35 Thousand Billion Dollars! Take another step back, because One Billion Dollars is One Thousand Million Dollars. 1 Trillion Dollars is one Million Million Dollars. Replace the 1 with a 35 and you get 35 Million Million Dollars. These numbers are impossible to comprehend, and they are ignored by our elected officials on both sides of the aisle. When the bill comes due, who will pay? ? ? Take a moment to think about it. Have you had enough time? The answer is me and you. The younger you are, the more you will pay back. With no answer coming from Washington, I would propose a 1% across every agency cut every year for the next 3 years. After that, we can reevaluate and perhaps try something different. Mine is a simplistic solution to a complex problem. I understand that, but we have to start somewhere.
