Over the past few days, CFD has responded to a high number of grass fire calls. While we are not currently under a burn ban, please be extra mindful of weather conditions before starting any fire. Dry, windy conditions can cause fires to spread quickly.

If you see something burning and are unsure whether it has been reported, please call it in immediately—early notification can prevent a small fire from becoming a dangerous situation.

We’d also like to extend a huge thank you to our volunteer members who step away from their day jobs and personal time to respond, protect our community, and answer the call when we’re needed most. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Stay safe and thank you for helping us keep our community protected.

🔥 Training Spotlight! 🔥

On November 13th and 14th, Captain Michael Harvey took part in the National Fire Academy’s “Fire Investigation : First Responders” class, hosted by our friends at the Little Caillou Fire Department in Chauvin, Louisiana.

This hands-on course taught valuable skills for recognizing, preserving, and documenting fire scene evidence — helping firefighters better understand how and why fires start, so we can all work together to keep our community safer.

A big thank you to Chief Amanda Thibodeaux for the invitation and for being such a fantastic host! 👏 Your hospitality and leadership made the training experience outstanding.

We’re proud of Captain Harvey for always going above and beyond to keep learning and bringing that knowledge back home to serve our citizens. 👨‍🚒🔥

Today, Clinton FD, Woodland FD and Bluff Creek FD, responded to four separate grass fires across the area (all between 1:30pm-5:00pm). Thanks to quick action from our firefighters and other departments, all fires were brought under control — but today’s events serve as an important reminder.

🚫 Even small burns can get out of control quickly, especially with dry grass, wind, and low humidity.
✅ Please use extreme caution if you’re burning.
✅ Never leave a fire unattended.
✅ Always have water, tools, and a plan to extinguish it if needed.
✅ Check local burn restrictions or weather conditions before lighting any fires.

Your cooperation helps keep our community safe.

This morning, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, members of the Clinton Fire Department participated in vehicle extrication training.

Our firefighters practiced vital rescue techniques used to safely remove victims from vehicles involved in accidents. Training like this ensures that when seconds count, our team is ready to respond with skill, precision, and confidence.

A big thank-you to everyone who helped make this training possible — and to our community for your continued support as we work to keep Clinton safe!

Fun Fact Friday!!!!

Here is some remarkable facts about Clinton Fire Department (CFD) that highlight the unwavering dedication and commitment of our firefighters to their community.

Did you know that CFD is a 100% volunteer department? Each member selflessly dedicates their time away from their families to train and assist during emergencies, sometimes responding to calls throughout the night before returning to their regular jobs. This commitment showcases not only their bravery but also their deep-rooted connection to the community they serve.

Furthermore, I would like to share an inspiring story about one of Clinton's fire apparatus. This vehicle played a significant role in delivering steel from the World Trade Center to San Diego, California, in support of the Terry Farrell Firefighter Foundation. A memorial letter is attached to the side of the truck that serves as a poignant reminder of that day, honoring the sacrifices made by firefighters everywhere.

We are pleased to announce that Clinton Fire Department has successfully earned a Class 4 rating! This classification, which operates on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being the highest, reflects our community’s robust fire protection program and the commendable resources we provide.

This rating is determined by a thorough evaluation of various factors, including the local fire department's staffing levels, training programs, and available equipment. Additionally, assessments of the community's water supply, hydrant systems, and the efficiency of our emergency communications have all contributed to this achievement.

The designation of a Class 4 rating not only highlights our department's dedication but also has significant implications for our residents and businesses. It often results in lower homeowner and commercial insurance premiums, thereby benefiting our community financially.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to our dedicated department members for their sacrifices and commitment. Their hard work and perseverance have made this achievement possible.

Thank you for your continued support.

Special thanks to Silliman Pre-K3/K4,

On behalf of the Clinton Fire Department, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for welcoming us to your classrooms. It was a joy to meet your students, share what it means to be a firefighter, and give them a closer look at our fire trucks and equipment.

We especially appreciate the opportunity to talk with the children about fire safety and what to do in case of an emergency. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and bright smiles made our visit truly memorable. We hope the experience not only excited them but also gave them important lessons they can carry with them.

A special thank-you goes to Firefighters Janell Granier, Joel Wallace, and Ryan Wallace for helping make the day such a success. Their time, energy, and care made the experience both fun and educational for your students.

Thank you again for inviting us to be a part of your students’ learning. We look forward to continuing to serve and partner with you in keeping our community safe.

With gratitude,

Justin Wilbanks
