March in Montana
The 39th Annual March in Montana Auction and Dealer Show returns to Great Falls this March, bringing together collectors, dealers, and art lovers for one of the premier Western art and collectibles events in the country.
The 2026 sale will feature roughly 725 lots alongside a vibrant family of dealers, celebrating the art, artifacts, and spirit of the American West.
Great Bronzes
Highlights include an original cast of Frederic Remington’s iconic Bronco Buster and an original cast of Charles M. Russell’s rare bronze Range Father.
Additional sculpture offerings feature works by Bob Scriver, Earl E. Heikka, Harry Jackson, Gerald Balciar, and Bill Nebeker, among others.
Rare and Exceptional Flintlocks
Collectors will find superb early American fi****ms – hand-carved and hand-engraved examples in remarkable condition by master gunsmiths such as John Armstrong, Peter Berry, Nicholas Beyer, and Adam Ernst. Complementing this section is a well-documented note signed by George Washington, Founder of our Nation, adding a remarkable piece of early American history.
Wildlife and Sporting Art
A special section features numerous paintings by the great Bob Kuhn from the noted Yturria Collection, along with several works by John Seerey-Lester from his celebrated Theodore Roosevelt African Hunt series. Additional artists include Luke Frazier, Daniel Smith, Ken Carlson, and more.
Native American Artifacts and Collectibles
Highlights include a painted elk hide by Chief Washakie’s son, Cadzi Cody (Shoshone), one of the most recognized Native artists of the early 20th century. The sale also features a highly collectible Crow saddle, several bows and quivers, and a newly acquired, extremely rare Lakota “Medicine Wrapper.” This year’s auction continues the tradition of offering an outstanding group of “Montana-sized” Navajo weavings and blankets. The March in Montana sale has built a reputation as the best single venue in the region to view and acquire exceptional textile art.
Montana’s Best Artists
Works by Charles M. Russell, Bob Scriver, E.S. Paxson, Olaf C. Seltzer, and Earl E. Heikka headlines a strong group of historic Montana artists. A notable body of paintings and drawings by William Standing (1904-1951) – including several from his 1929 Washington, D.C. exhibition – will be among this year’s highlights.
The March in Montana Auction and Dealer Show, presented by Coeur d’ Alene Galleries and Coeur d’ Alene Auction, will be held at the Great Falls Elks Lodge #214 at 500 1st Ave S. in downtown Great Falls on March 19-21, 2026.
