There are always a lot of cows at the Trumbull County Fair, but STG provided a different kind of COW (Cell on Wheels) to the fairgrounds recently. These portable, mobile cell towers increase network capacity during temporarily congested events like the county fair. We're happy to play a part in keeping family and friends connected anytime, everywhere.

The backbone of every tower site starts long before the climb.

This week, we recognize the civil crews — the ground guys who turn raw land into working infrastructure. The ones pouring foundations in the heat, digging trenches through rock and mud, setting cabinets, running conduit, grading sites, and operating heavy equipment with precision.

While others may see an empty field, these crews see the beginning of a network.

They work through early mornings, long days, rough weather, tight deadlines, and changing conditions to build the groundwork that keeps the entire industry moving forward.

From excavators and concrete trucks to compaction equipment and site prep, their skill and hard work create the foundation every successful project depends on.

To the civil crews:
Thank you for the sweat, the grit, the long hours, and the pride you put into every site. Your work may start at ground level, but it supports everything above it.

Happy Civil Crew Appreciation Week.

Thank you to STG Construction Manager Jon Haught for expressing the appreciation felt by everyone at STG for the grueling and critical work our civil crews perform every day.

Thank you to our civil techs!

It's National Safety Month, and this week we're celebrating our civil technicians who work through all kinds of weather, mud, and grueling challenges to complete our projects with quality and a great attitude. Here is a recent STG Grit nomination recognizing a couple of our techs!

"I’d like to nominate Steven and Oliver for Grit. This ditch they dug is by far one of the worst ditches I’ve ever seen someone dig and they didn't complain at all, even though they kept running into pipes, concrete, and boulders. They got it done in record time with a great attitude, which made dealing with the situation easy."

We are extremely proud of our team members and their commitment to the highest level of professionalism. STG's culture focuses on rigorous safety standards, courtesy and respect, and zero profanity. Thank you to Luke Malensek and Jon Demshuk for always representing STG so well, as told in this customer testimonial:

"During the course of the day, I was able to observe and visually confirm that at all times the climber on the tower was using 100% tie off practices. After a few more observations, I notice that all of the required safety items were in place. This includes but not limited to, posted signage of potential site safety concerns, first aid kit, rescue equipment and multiple other items that are needed to comply with OSHA rules. All items were neatly laid out to ensure if any items were needed in an emergency, they were all in one place and readily accessible. Very impressive!

I was also able to interact with both climbers to see if they needed anything to help them with their task. Both Johnny and Luke were very respectful and courteous to me and were a pleasure to talk to. Both are well spoken and very kind.

Lastly, during their activities, I did not hear any yelling, swearing, cursing or other verbal comments from the ground to the air. In fact, I didn’t hear them at all due to the fact that they were using radios to talk to each other. There is a child daycare next to our tower and in the past, they have needed to move the children inside to keep them from hearing the adult words from tower crew. Rarely, do I encounter a tower crew that shows this much professionalism.

My deepest appreciation to you and your crew, they are top notch and deserve a little recognition for reflecting credit upon STG, themselves and the tower industry."

On Friday, we put up new flags at our headquarters in Columbiana in honor of our great country and the brave men and women who have fought to protect it. Today, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

"Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it.” — Unknown
