Stories Sell
If you really want to engage people when you are giving a presentation or reciting your 30-second commercial, share a quick story. Stories captivate people’s attention much more than sharing the same basic information. Further, a story helps them think of those who are similarly situated, which can become referrals for you.
So, share a story ... one from your personal experience ... one from the experience of a colleague ... one you have crafted from likely possibilities. It will make you more interesting and it will lead to more referrals for you.
