When someone isn’t following a process, simply telling them to follow it isn’t always the answer.

Good leadership means helping employees understand why the process matters, how it connects to their role, and how their work supports the larger mission of the company.

When people understand the “why,” they’re much more likely to buy into the process.

AI has incredible potential in manufacturing, but we can’t ignore the gap between where technology is going and where many small manufacturers are today.

I work with small family-owned machine shops that produce critical supply chain components while still relying on paper and outdated processes. Before we talk about using AI to optimize their operations, we need to help these companies modernize in practical, manageable ways.

If we’re serious about strengthening American manufacturing, we have to meet manufacturers where they are and help them build from there.

A good quality system shouldn’t create more work. It should make the work you’re already doing better.

The most effective systems support the way your team actually operates, cutting through unnecessary complexity and creating measurable improvements.

If your employees have to work around the system to get their job done, the system isn’t working.

Workforce development doesn’t happen in isolation. It takes collaboration.

Recently, the NH Manufacturing Alliance met with Manchester Community College NH to explore partnership opportunities that will help strengthen New Hampshire’s manufacturing workforce.

By working together with educators, manufacturers, and industry partners, we can better prepare the next generation of skilled workers while creating more opportunities for individuals and businesses across our state.

We’re excited about what’s ahead and look forward to continuing these conversations to support the future of manufacturing in New Hampshire.

Numbers tell part of the story. People tell the rest.

That’s why we start by listening to employees, understanding their perspective, and uncovering the root cause before recommending solutions.

Strong leadership doesn’t happen by accident.

One of the biggest mistakes companies make is promoting their best employee into a management role without considering whether they’re equipped to lead.

Great managers don’t just get results. They develop people, build trust, and create teams that want to stay.

A Quality Management System isn’t just documentation.

When built correctly, it becomes the foundation for how your organization operates, communicates, helping teams work more consistently, improve quality, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement.

The best QMS isn’t one that’s only pulled out during an audit. It’s one that’s used every day.

The biggest mistake companies make with ISO?

Treating it like an annual event instead of part of their daily operations.

If you’re scrambling to prepare for an audit, it’s usually a sign your quality system isn’t working the way it should.
