🔧 WHY DOES MOBILE MECHANIC SERVICE COST WHAT IT DOES?
We get this question sometimes, so we want to explain it honestly.
When you call Rapid Mobile Tech LLC, you're not just paying someone to turn a wrench. You're paying for us to bring the shop to YOU — and for everything that goes into getting your vehicle repaired correctly.
🚙 WE COME TO YOU.
That means we're covering:
• Travel time and fuel
• Loading and transporting our tools and equipment
• Specialized diagnostic equipment
• Insurance and business expenses
• Equipment maintenance
• Parts research and procurement
• Time spent locating the correct parts for YOUR specific vehicle
• Comparing availability, quality, and pricing from suppliers
• Picking up, ordering, receiving, and sometimes returning parts
• Researching the correct repair procedure and specifications
• Diagnostic testing and troubleshooting
• The actual repair labor
• Cleanup and jobsite setup
A lot of the work customers don't see happens before we ever turn the first wrench.
You're paying for the job, not watching a clock.

🔎 WHY DO WE CHARGE FOR DIAGNOSTICS?
A diagnostic isn't simply plugging in a scanner and reading a code.
A code tells us where to start investigating — it doesn't necessarily tell us which part is actually bad.
A proper diagnosis can involve:
🔹 Scanning computer systems
🔹 Testing electrical circuits
🔹 Checking sensors and components
🔹 Visual inspection
🔹 Mechanical testing
🔹 Researching vehicle-specific information
🔹 Following manufacturer procedures
🔹 Determining the actual root cause
We don't believe in throwing parts at a problem and hoping one fixes it.
That can end up costing you much more.
We'd rather spend the time diagnosing the problem correctly so you aren't paying for parts you didn't need.
📦 PARTS DON'T JUST "SHOW UP"
When we quote a repair, there's often research involved in making sure we're getting the RIGHT part.
There can be multiple engines, transmissions, trim levels, production dates, part revisions, and aftermarket options for the same year/make/model.
We have to verify compatibility, locate the part, check availability, determine whether it's something we can source locally or needs to be ordered, and coordinate getting it to the job.
That time and expertise has value too.
