The countdown is on!

This month, ARCS will be attending the ALC Modernization and Sustainment Accelerator in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Hosted by NCMS in collaboration with the U.S. Coast Guard, this event will bring together industry and government partners to advance maintenance and sustainment capabilities. We'll be showcasing our solutions designed to enhance readiness, improve efficiency, and support better decision-making.

Meet Sophie! 👩‍💻

ARCS is excited to welcome Sophie to our team this summer as part of the LaunchTN Summer Internship Program!

Sophie joins us as a Business Intern, where she'll work alongside our business development team, learn through real-world projects, and gain hands-on industry experience.

Sophie is a Tennessee Technological University grad assistant pursuing her MBA, set to graduate this fall. She holds a BS in Business Administration and brings previous internship experience in marketing, retail, and business operations. She says, "I am eager to leverage these skills in the aviation industry and look forward to connecting with the team!"

We've collaborated with LaunchTN over the years and are grateful for their resources like SBIR workshops, 3686 conferences, and more. They're a nonprofit whose mission is to empower innovators, just like ARCS, with commercialization support and connections.

Each summer, they connect talented students with host companies across Tennessee through their internship program. Thank you, , for supporting amazing talent each summer, and welcome Sophie! 🙌

Another from our AI/ML Researcher, Chad Hickman! 🛠️

This week, we’re sharing more behind-the-scenes insight into our Battle-Damage Data Recording System (BDDRS), an AI-driven damage detection tool designed to support our Navy customers, with applications that extend to a wide range of environments and use cases.

In this demo, Chad breaks down how AI systems determine if the detected damage should be flagged or ignored. The goal is to balance accuracy and false alarms to help users make better real-time decisions. 📊🎯

As Chad explains: “A visual demonstration of the trade-offs when selecting a cutoff for a binary classifier. The slider here is equivalent to selecting a point on the ROC curve or the precision-recall curve.”

Honored for ARCS to attend the inaugural Hill Industry Partner Exchange (HIPE)! It was an outstanding opportunity to learn, network, and collaborate in support of the critical warfighting mission of America’s Depot.

ARCS CEO Barjes Alotaibi and Project Manager Chris Williams represented the team at , engaging with industry partners and government leaders.

The excellent panels, speakers, and discussions reinforced the urgent need for innovative solutions that shorten logistics timelines and reduce aircraft maintenance time to operational availability as we prepare for current threats and future challenges in contested environments.

As Chris shared, “It was great to meet the Hill Air Force Base Small Business Office (SBO) and HAFB supply representatives to share ARCS capabilities, and explore how we can support requirements as we continue our current work with Ogden Air Logistics Complex and the 309th AMXG.”

May 2026 marks 14 years since Barjes Alotaibi founded ARCS Aviation, a HUBZone-certified small business supporting critical training and operational needs across the Department of Defense.

Over the years, ARCS has proudly worked with the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and supported the broader DoD community through a variety of innovation-driven solutions. We have been awarded over a dozen SBIR/STTR contracts, developed talent within the Tennessee community, and partnered with numerous of organizations. We’re grateful to our customers, partners, and team members.

ARCS is excited to introduce “Tech Tuesday”: a new series where we take a deeper dive into the technology we’re building, showcase real-world demos, and highlight the impact behind our innovation. 🚀

Today's is our Battle-Damage Data Recording System (BDDRS), an AI-enhanced system for battle damage assessment. This application automatically identifies and classifies aircraft components and creates spatially indexed battle damage reports. The technology aims to improve work order support and damage prediction.

I said I wanted to apply computing to real-world problems. I think being hands-on with an F-18 while it's pouring rain, then building an AI to analyze it, definitely counts!”
