🚨 Introducing CAIDE: Context-Aware Identity Discovery Engine.

Facial recognition can tell you who someone is, but in time-sensitive operations, identification is only the beginning.

CAIDE transforms facial recognition from a simple identity alert into an actionable intelligence capability by fusing biometric validation, contextual retrieval, and explainable AI within a Human-in-the-Loop architecture designed for near real-time government operations.

Designed for High Value Individuals (HVIs) identification, CAIDE helps analysts move from identification to contextual understanding in seconds, retrieving relevant intelligence, prior sightings, aliases, watchlist information, and supporting evidence without requiring operators to navigate multiple disconnected systems.

⚡ Built for contested, denied, intermittent, and low-bandwidth environments, CAIDE brings intelligence closer to the point of need while keeping the analyst in control.

From Simulation to Reality: Teaching AI to See in 3D

What if you could train an AI to understand the 3D world without ever showing it the real world? For today's , we’re highlighting work from the ARCS Aviation development team who’s exploring exactly that.

Using thousands of videos generated in a simulation, our team trained an AI model to predict a vehicle’s 3D position, rotation, and scale from a standard 2D video. The model was trained entirely in simulation, without ever encountering a real vehicle. This is highly desirable because in a simulation you can have many diverse vehicles and environments that would be difficult and expensive to obtain in the real world. For example, imagine training a similar model for advanced aircraft. 👀

While the upsides to training in a simulation are massive, there are also some challenges. Simulations almost always differ from reality slightly; this is called the “sim-to-real gap”. Bridging the sim-to-real gap is a key challenge in AR/XR, digital twins, robotics, and other emerging technologies.

The model was successfully tested on multiple vehicles in the real-world including cars, trucks, and vans! The demo video shows the simulation and real world side by side. The red box shows the model's prediction of the 3D orientation of the car in the 2D video.

🎥 Check out the demos below to see the digital and physical worlds come together.

We’re proud to be part of the 2026-2027 Navy SBIR Transition Program (Navy STP) cohort and to continue expanding ARCS Aviation's capabilities to support the warfighter in contested and operational environments.

As part of the cohort, ARCS is advancing our current Navy SBIR Phase II effort to develop our Battle-Damage Data Recording System (“BDDRS”). is a technology designed to help warfighters rapidly assess, document, and communicate battle damage.

🔹 About BDDRS

In a contested environment, time is critical. BDDRS provides an intuitive, easy-to-use system to identify, record, and communicate battle-related damage data, even when operating under pressure.

The system is designed to be a flexible, durable, and accessible tool for both technical and non-technical users to record damage data and turn it into actionable repair information for battle-damaged aircraft. ARCS Aviation’s approach will support multiple platforms, primarily on tablets and phones, but also AR goggles.

Ultimately, BDDRS is a flexible ecosystem designed to help turn battle-damage data into actionable repair information, supporting the warfighter when and where it matters most.

🇺🇸 We’re excited to continue advancing BDDRS through the Navy STP and look forward to connecting with organizations interested in the future of battle-damage assessment, aircraft sustainment, and digital maintenance technologies.

Congratulations to the rest of the 2026-2027 Navy STP cohort! We’re honored to join this innovative group of companies.

Last week, our team attended the inaugural NCMS collaboration with the U.S. Coast Guard during the Modernization & Sustainment Accelerator in Elizabeth City, NC. We showcased our lineup of XR solutions, with a special emphasis on our corrosion control capabilities. 🛠️

💬 Chris Williams
"The highlight was connecting directly with the non-destructive inspection and corrosion control personnel in ALC's Engineering Services Division. The work they're doing is impressive, and hearing firsthand about the challenges of finding micro-cracks in hard-to-reach areas drove home how augmented reality can serve as a force multiplier for reducing burden, workflow speed, inspection accuracy, and data capture."

The ARCS team was also taken on a tour of the ALC to observe its mission firsthand and gain insight into the full scope of the operations and sustainment it provides for the U.S. Coast Guard. The team was amazed by the scale of the support.

💬 Nathan Thomas-Benke
"Touring the facility and speaking directly with the people doing the day-to-day work was a highlight of the event. It was a great opportunity to better understand their workflows, hear about the challenges they’re facing, and see where our solutions could be a strong fit. Being able to connect with people across every level of the ALC, from executive leadership to depot personnel, was a unique experience that I haven’t had at any other event."

We’re excited about the road ahead and the opportunity to bring extended reality and AI solutions to the people doing the hardest work. Thank you to NCMS - National Center for Manufacturing Sciences and U.S. Coast Guard!

Meet Sophie! 👩‍💻

ARCS is excited to welcome Sophie to our team this summer as part of the LaunchTN Summer Internship Program!

Sophie joins us as a Business Intern, where she'll work alongside our business development team, learn through real-world projects, and gain hands-on industry experience.

Sophie is a Tennessee Technological University grad assistant pursuing her MBA, set to graduate this fall. She holds a BS in Business Administration and brings previous internship experience in marketing, retail, and business operations. She says, "I am eager to leverage these skills in the aviation industry and look forward to connecting with the team!"

We've collaborated with LaunchTN over the years and are grateful for their resources like SBIR workshops, 3686 conferences, and more. They're a nonprofit whose mission is to empower innovators, just like ARCS, with commercialization support and connections.

Each summer, they connect talented students with host companies across Tennessee through their internship program. Thank you, , for supporting amazing talent each summer, and welcome Sophie! 🙌
