I write stories shaped by trauma, loyalty, and the echoes that follow us home; fiction and nonfiction that blur the line between shadow and silence. Good morning everyone, I hope your weekend is off to a great start.

This morning I was sitting on the back porch, watching and listening to the world slowly wake up, when I came across something that hit a little deeper because of the stillness around me.

The truth is, the job we stress over will replace us. The strangers whose opinions consume us will move on. Most of the things that feel overwhelming today will fade faster than we realize. Life keeps moving, with or without us.

So focus on what actually matters. Spend time with your loved ones. Say the things that need to be said. Let some of the small stuff go.

We never really know when God is going to call us home. Don’t wait for a tragedy to start living like what matters actually matters.

Just received the new banner.

It’s a reminder of why these stories exist in the first place.
PTSD. Moral injury. The things we carry long after the moment has passed.

I’ll have it up at the next event. If you’re there, come by and take a look.

Big thank you to everyone who came out to The Book Shack today.

Whether you stopped to talk, picked up a book, or just took a moment to connect… I appreciate it more than you probably realize. Days like this are never just about the books for me, it’s the conversations, the shared moments, and the reminder that we’re not carrying this stuff alone.

A special thank you to Rodney Cruz from the PTSD Foundation of America - Florida Chapter for stepping in and helping man the booth. Having someone there who understands the mission behind it all makes a difference.

And a big thank you to the Book Shack for putting on the event and creating space for authors and the community to come together.

Grateful to be a part of it.

Come by the book shack and say hi!

A younger me, somewhere in Iraq around 2006.

Sitting on a tombstone, not thinking much of it at the time.

Just another day. Another place. Another task.

We were there for a reason.

Looking for what didn’t belong… even if it meant disturbing what should’ve been left alone.

I didn’t realize how much of that place would stay with me.

Some things follow you home…
not always as memories, sometimes as echoes.

And eventually, those echoes become stories.

First shipment of Lessons from Our Childhood just came in.

I’ll have copies at the Book Shack this Saturday from 10–2. If you’re in the area, stop by and check it out.

I’ve got a limited number of The Forgotten Shield Wall left. More are already on the way.

If you can’t make it this weekend, you can always order online or catch me at a future event.

Sat out back and recorded the prologue to Lucky.

Same words… just a different way of hearing them.

Curious what you think.

There’s something different about local book events.

It’s not just books on a table… it’s conversations, stories, and those random moments where you connect with someone you weren’t expecting to.

I’ll be out at The Book Shack Author Fair & Indie Bookstore Day Celebration this Saturday (10–2 in Dade City), and it honestly looks like one of those events where you can just wander, talk, and enjoy it.

They’ve got:
• live readings all day
• author spotlights
• giveaways and raffles
• scavenger hunt (which is actually a pretty cool idea)
• and a bunch of local authors set up

I’ll have my books out there, but more than that, I’m looking forward to the conversations that come with them.

If you’re nearby, come walk through, say hey, and hang out for a bit.

No pressure. Just good people and good stories.
