This fall, the North Main Visionaries Collaborative Group is bringing a series of informative community events focused on health, wellness, self-care and local resources.

🚶 Wellness Walk & Talk
Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 16, join us every other Wednesday as we meet up at the Main Street Plaza for a wellness walk paired with important conversations about health and well-being. Upcoming topics will include su***de prevention, anxiety and depression, heart health, and diabetes. These walks offer an opportunity to learn more about these important issues while connecting with others in the community.

🎨 Self-Care Saturdays
Starting Saturday, Sept. 19, Self-Care Saturdays will take place at The Salvation Army and provide opportunities to learn and practice healthy self-care strategies. The first session will feature Therapeutic Painting with Felice McWilliams. Registration is required.

🎃 Trunks, Treats & Treasures
On Saturday, Oct. 31, from 1-3 p.m., join us for Trunks, Treats & Treasures at 629 N. Main Street. This Halloween event combines a trunk-or-treat celebration with a community resource fair, giving families an opportunity to connect, learn about available resources and enjoy an afternoon together.

These events are designed to provide valuable information, connect residents with resources and create opportunities for neighbors to build stronger connections within the North Main community.

She's been a teacher, coach, mentor and community leader for over 35 years. Today, Patricia Moore shares her story. 💛

In this episode of the True North Speaker Series, Patricia opens up about growing up in Gretna, the mentors who shaped her, and what's kept her passionate about education since 1988. From coaching young women in basketball, softball, and track to leading Interact Club students in service above self, Patricia has spent her life living the promise by pouring into the Dan River Region and the young people who call it home.

From growing up in Gretna to coaching basketball, softball and track, to guiding students as Interact Advisor at Dan River High School, Patricia has lived Rotary's motto of "Service Above Self" in everything she does. A Teacher of the Year honoree and Averett University Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, she's proof that true leadership is about investing in others.
