Every new level requires a new version of you.

When I became a six-figure earner, it came with a lot of growth—but it also came with a lot of work.

At one point, I was working 75–80 hour weeks, managing a roster of 65 people, and facilitating around 700 dates a year.

That season taught me something important: growth requires change.

And sometimes, we stay in places where we're no longer growing because they're comfortable. But when you're professionally stifled, eventually it can affect every other part of your life.

For me, that kind of pace was what I was living for at the time. But everyone reaches a point where they have to ask themselves:

Am I still growing here? Or am I just staying because I'm afraid of what change requires?

If you're feeling stuck right now, maybe this is your sign.

Change is the price of growth.

Dolly Parton passed away yesterday, and this quote of hers has been on my mind. ❤️

“Don't get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.”

As a matchmaker, I see this all the time.

I work with incredibly successful, driven people who have built amazing careers, businesses, and lives. They're accomplished, independent, and very good at being busy.

But sometimes, somewhere along the way, their personal life gets pushed to the bottom of the list.

There is always another work deadline. Another trip. Another goal. Another reason to say, “I'll make time for dating later.”

But later eventually becomes years.

And having a successful career is wonderful. Building a life you're proud of is something to celebrate.

But who are you sharing that life with?

That's one of the reasons I believe so strongly in what I do. Finding a partner isn't about giving up your independence or slowing down your ambition.

It's about making room for something that matters just as much.

Dolly spent her life reminding people to work hard, love hard, give generously, and enjoy the life they're building.

I think that's a beautiful legacy. ❤️

After years of matchmaking, I've learned something I wish more people understood about dating:

You don't always know what something is going to become when it starts.

I've watched people meet and immediately think, “This is it.”

I've also watched people meet and think, “I'm not sure...”

And sometimes, the second person ends up being the one that surprises everyone.

That's one of the reasons I created my 3-Date Model.

I don't want my clients making a life-changing decision about someone based on 90 minutes, first-date nerves, and a checklist.

Give the connection a little room to breathe.

Get to know the person.

Pay attention to how you feel around them.

See how they communicate.

And then decide.

Because some of the best relationships I've watched unfold didn't necessarily look like a fairytale on the first date.

They just needed a little time to become one. ❤️

This is why “loves to travel” isn't enough for a dating profile. 👀✈️

I see this all the time. Someone tells me they want a partner who loves to travel, and my next question is always:

“Okay... what does travel look like for you?”

Because apparently, in my own family, it looks like this. 😂📁✈️

My husband is the kind of traveler who has a folder, an itinerary, and probably a backup plan for the backup plan.

And I love it. ❤️

But someone else might hear “travel” and picture hopping on a plane with a carry-on and figuring everything out when they get there.

Neither is wrong. They're just very different travel styles.

That's exactly why I don't just look at whether two people have the same interests. I want to understand how they actually live those interests.

Because saying you both “love to travel” is easy.

Figuring out whether you'd actually enjoy traveling together is the real matchmaking work. 😉
