🌍 AFRICA SHOWCASE | PAPA STEVE & SUZANNE 🇿🇦

Some hunts are 40 years in the making… and this one was finally a dream come true!

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Steve and his wife, Suzanne, from New York to camp. Steve is a dear friend of our founder, Felicia, and many know him as “Papa Steve.”

For more than 40 years, Steve had dreamed of chasing the legendary “Gray Ghost” a kudu. After countless conversations about Africa and realizing that this dream was more attainable than he ever imagined, Steve and Suzanne decided it was finally time to make it happen.

And what an adventure it was! Steve came home with six beautiful, mature animals, including the kudu he had dreamed of for decades. 🩶

But the animals were only part of the story. Suzanne stepped completely outside her comfort zone to join us, and she quickly became such a special part of camp. Her laughter, lighthearted spirit, and infectious smile brought so much joy to everyone around her.

And Papa Steve? Well… he brought plenty of comedy, laughter, and razz of his own! 😂

Congratulations, Papa Steve, on an incredible safari and a 40+ year bucket-list dream fulfilled! What an incredible collection of memories you and Suzanne made together.

We can’t wait to welcome you both back to camp! ❤️🇿🇦

🇿🇦 SOUTH AFRICA Showcase RYAN

With our sneak peeks still flowing, we’re excited to finally give you an inside look now that our entire Women of the Wild crew is home from South Africa with Rhinoland Safaris!

First up is Ryan, who traveled all the way from Colorado with his wife, Kim, for his very first African safari. Ryan is a big, old teddy bear of a man and incredibly kind, genuine, and an absolute joy to have in camp.

It was especially wonderful watching Kim experience something completely new, step outside her comfort zone, and take in the African bushveld alongside him. ❤️

Ryan had an incredible safari, harvesting an impala, blue wildebeest, and nyala, while also spending time pursuing a beautiful stud of an eland bull. Watching him work with his bow was awesome. Every arrow was placed with incredible precision, and every harvest was ethical and well executed.

We were also lucky enough to enjoy some of those beautiful animals on our plates, thanks to the culinary expertise in camp!

Ryan and Kim, it was an absolute pleasure having you with us. We hope you enjoyed your first African safari as much as we enjoyed having you in camp.

Congratulations on your beautiful animals, Ryan! We have a feeling this definitely won’t be your last adventure in Africa. 🇿🇦❤️

Our weekly feature with our lead Megan Amershek !!! Meet the naughty and nice dogs of the week! On the left we have Princess (not her real name) but she was chose as the naughty dog because she likes to steal the water hose while pens are being cleaned out on her row! She is very funny and likes to pretend like she didn’t do anything. Our nice feature is the Jagged Puppies. They are soft spoken and enjoy cuddles!

Can you name this specimen?? Our lead in Kansas Megan Amershek was out in her parents pasture at a creek bottom. She states that there are so many of these in the creek bottom and all their outdoor flower beds contain this specimen. What do you think it is?
