SEMA is deeply saddened by the passing of Ronald “Ron” Shivers, owner and former president of Dee Zee, Inc., and a longtime leader in the automotive aftermarket.

Ron joined Dee Zee as controller in 1978 and became president in 1987, eventually acquiring full ownership of the company. Over the decades that followed, he helped guide Dee Zee through tremendous growth while advancing the truck and accessory market.

A proud SEMA and TORA member, Ron will be remembered not only for his business leadership, but also for his passion for people, generosity, and unwavering support of the industry. Dee Zee’s lasting impact was recognized in 2023 when the company was named SEMA Show Manufacturer of the Year.

SEMA extends its deepest condolences to Ron’s wife, Bev, his family and friends, and the entire Dee Zee team. His contributions and the legacy he leaves behind will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
