Good Morning Folks, another week of clogs, backups, and systems needing attention… Preventative Maintenance while is an expense, is WAY CHEAPER than total replacement. The attached video is a 31 year old system, current home owner purchased in last 5 years, has required pumping at least once, however the other company that pumped it, did NOT dig up the and pump the Outlet chamber of the dual chamber tank… When we cleared the TP Clog in the Inlet, I noticed Effluent level was staying up in the Inlet… This is a sign the Leachfield is not taking the Effluent/Water… We proceeded to dig the Outlet Chamber and found it was really bad… notified the home owner of the situation and pumped the tank free of all material in both chambers… Tank was in good shape, installed new Effluent Filter, but I don’t know if the Leachfield will recover or if too much damage has already occurred… Time will tell, SludgeHammer might be a good solution, or New Leachfield might be in this systems near future… HOPEFULLY cleaning the tank and removing as much solids from the Outlet Baffle/pvc , hopefully the field will recover…
This home has 7 folks… by Texas A&M study of how often a system should be pumped by number of people, 7 folks on 1000 gal tank, system should be pumped every 1.2 years… SO this system was behind recommendations/schedule for service… Obviously it needed help…

When we were called to help with this system, it was backing up, Leachfield was surfacing to the point the owner was unable to mow the grass without getting mower stuck… This home helps women with recovery/SO there is a lot of usage of the septic system with 12-14 women living in this home…
Since March 24th, we pumped out the tank, installed a SludgeHammer Advanced Treatment Unit-S-86. System has been working with NO issues/problems, as of today, System is functioning perfectly, NO visible waste in system, NO Odor, and Leachfield has dried up to the point the owner can mow the grass again, no visible wetness in yard around Leachfield… SUCCESS!!! Good Morning Folks, What is an Effluent Filter? An Effluent Filter is a devise installed in your Septic Tank on the Outlet Baffle (where the water leaves your tank) and it is designed to stop any of the solids/greases/fats/oils/and BioMat from leaving the tank and destroying your Leachfield (drain field/where the water is absorbed back into the ground). Being a filter, it requires some maintenance, it’s a very simple process to keep it working correctly… Once a year, you pull the filter out of the baffle and use a garden hose to rinse it clean, there is an arrow on top that points out/toward the drain field/leachfield as you put it back in. That’s it, it’s good to go back to work. This is a service that N2 Diggin provides under our Monthly Maintenance Plan, not only do you get 1/2 price on the first pumping, free pumping in 3 years, 1/2 price risers, but we come out TWICE a year, inspect your system, clean your Effluent Filter which we install for FREE under plan, and just help you keep on top of your systems maintenance so it last as long as possible.
Effluent filters come in different manufacturers, different shapes, sizes and colors, they might be yellow, red, blue, ect… but they word similar in that they help to protect your system with proper maintenance.

Homeowner said toilet has been “Gurgling” now it’s backed up in the house and won’t flush… System is newer, built in 2023, family of 7 only lived there for 1 year…
I personally do NOT like the plastic tanks, I keep seeing problems with them collapsing/buried too deep, not backfilled with rock, ect… System was pretty thick for 1 year of use, burned with no risers, now the tank is warped and risers don’t fit correctly, but we made it work, got the clog removed, pumped tank and flowing… installed risers for Maintenance Plan inspections twice a year to help Home owner to keep on top of any issues, installed an Effluent filter to keep any solids/grease from getting out of the tank to the Leach Field…. The homeowner/mother was hesitant to call for help with financial restraints… We are working with them to address her pressing issues and get their home functioning while her husband is out of town working providing for their family… N2 Diggin is partnered with Hearth Financial to provide financing options for larger projects. Good Morning Folks, this week a good customer had a back up at his personal home which I had not been to yet, another local Septic company had serviced about 1 year ago. Of course it back up right as the storm was coming in, but we started hand digging to find the tank 30” deep, another problem was the other company concrete covered the tank access lid in attempt to keep the roots out…Well it did not keep the tree roots out, they made their way in and plugged the inlet baffle… we were able to clear the blockage enough to get it draining to the tank, next morning, we excavated the tank lid, concrete sawed the lid back open, found the inlet baffle was completely plugged with tree roots minus what we ripped out in the storm, we were able to get everything we could find out, concrete sealed a large chipped section, installed risers, extended the baffle into riser away from edge. As we conduct our Maintenance Plan, we will continue to monitor for any tree roots.
Point is, a Septic System is VITAL to your homes functionality, it is NOT a set it and forget it item… Maintenance is critical to its life/function. Just like your new vehicle requires maintenance/oil change/fuel in ect…. Septic Systems need help too, our lives introduce items into the tank that have to be dealt with, Fats/Oils/Greases/Soaps/detergents/lotions/cleaning products…. Some examples, these things build up over time and create blockages… A maintenance plan, we inspect your tank twice a year, clean an Effluent Filter (keeps all solid materials from leaving the tank and destroying your Leachfield), we evaluate your solid levels to keep you on top of pumping (solid levels should be below 20%, never over 30% or your pushing solids out to your Leachfield), we evaluate for signs of Leachfield failure-standing water around drain field/probing, check inlet baffle for any build up and or tree roots/papers/wipes ect….
