When life throws you curveballs, how do you respond?
Not long ago, I got something stuck in my tire and ended up needing to replace all four tires because my vehicle is all-wheel drive. Replacing just one would have created an imbalance and potentially caused other mechanical issues.
It was frustrating. It was irritating. And of course, it happened at the most inconvenient time.
But I happened to be right across the street from a tire shop, and I had enough time to still make it to my next appointment. So instead of letting the situation derail my entire day, I took a breath, handled what needed to be handled, and kept moving.
And honestly, I think this is such a good reminder for us as entrepreneurs, founders, veterinarians, business owners, and changemakers.
Sometimes things happen that we didn't plan for. A challenge comes out of nowhere. Something doesn't work the way we expected it to. We have to pivot, learn something new, build a new skill, or simply develop more patience and capacity.
It can feel like everything is falling apart.
But sometimes, what feels like things falling apart is actually an invitation to grow into something new.
The unexpected turns aren't always failures. Sometimes they're redirects. Sometimes they're opportunities to build resilience, rethink our approach, or become better equipped for what's next.
So the next time something doesn't go according to plan, pause before you label it a problem.
Ask yourself:
What is this here to teach me?
Where is this asking me to grow?
What opportunity might be hiding inside this unexpected turn?
That shift in perspective can change everything.
How are you reframing the curveballs in your life or business right now?
