My time in Belize was full of surprises, new friendships and realizations that sometimes you aren’t supposed to sit at someone else’s table but to create your own.

It was a much needed eye opener of who I truly am and the power and gifts God has lended for me to use FULLY!!

Sometimes, what you think you need from someone or from something is actually the fuel you use to DRIVE your own car!

I appreciate everything Belize gave me. You have inspired me.

Last night was a vibe and I am glad that I had the opportunity to connect some new people and re introduce myself to JOSEPH McRAE

The best part?! I was able to kick it with Donda B The Fashion Stylist LLC , see my girl Makayla “Skai” Sanders be one of his models and vibe with the beauty of photography herself Photographer|Studio Owner|Creative Director| Content Strategist. We didn’t get a photo together but it is always good to see H E M L I N E in the building.

Can black women really thrive in the world of pageantry?! Yes! I want to know! As a former Director, (yes, you read that right! We will more into that tomorrow) I want to hear from other pageant queens, former and current of how it is to wear the crown.

I thought the fashion industry had a lot going on until I entered into the world of pageantry.

After doing some research, I was compelled to read our former Miss USA, Cheslie Kryst book, “By the time you read this.” Raised and worked here in the Carolinas. I hope to meet her mother, April Simpkins one day and talk to her on our podcast, “A Queens Room” but for now, I want this to be our topic for discussion on this Friday’s podcast, “Can we as black women truly be seen in the world of pageantry?!” How can we set the tone for powerful black women and teens to truly have a stage and platform where they are seen, heard and celebrated.
