Manufacturers, expose your production teams to the methodical approach for problem solving or improve their existing problem-solving skills. Hosted by the EDC of Elkhart County, Purdue’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership presents a compressed, yet comprehensive, workshop on PDCA, A3 and Root Cause Analysis techniques.

The PDCA A3 Root Cause process is a structured approach to problem-solving that combines the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle with the A3 one-page method of root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Participants will learn about problem-solving tools and activities, including A3, root cause analysis, process mapping, cause and effect diagrams and more.

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲
• Defining a “problem” and identifying problem-solving skills and barriers to problem solving
• Learning the benefits of using a structured problem-solving method
• Explaining the A3 problem-solving one-page form and how it is used
• Describing the goals and actions of each Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) step
• Defining “root causes” and distinguishing them from symptoms
