We got some of the EFD crew together this nice September morning and spent a few hours checking all of our fire hoses and nozzles for leaks and excessive wear!
Huge shoutout to Chief Deters for supplying the donuts and getting us motivated to do this critical maintenance task that ensures our safety while on the fire scene as well as improves our efficiency overall.
As we were working together to get the job done, it was almost impossible not to reflect back on another September 12th 25 years ago- when our entire nation pulled together to crawl out of the remnants of an awful 9/11 and start the healing and rebuilding process.
It was a day filled with people from every walk of life working, praying with and comforting each other just for the sake of being fellow Americans. Total strangers coming together with one common goal of lifting our nation up stronger than it was before.
We remember that- and are filled with gratitude- for the brave efforts of the fallen heroes who gave their lives to save others on the 11th, and also for all the heroes who were there on the 12th trying to save just one more soul.
We will never forget
