A little community activities update for you fine folks!

Tomorrow is the 1st annual Springfest in Spring Hill! Come on out for what rumors say will be a fabulous parade (with up to 40 floats already entered into the event!) starting at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Lots of candy for all and we will be participating in said parade as well!
Bring your family and friends on out to Spring Hill and join us in welcoming spring ‘26 with a bang!

Last Saturday, a few of us (more athletically inclined*) EFD members participated in the yearly Human Foosball event hosted by the Greenwald Pub! Although no games were won this year{by team Yellow Jackets}, we forced overtime in game 1 on the back of some great goaltending by Tyler Peters before getting blown out in game 2 by the Borgerding family team that included EFD member (and traitor!!)Tommy Borgerding! Fun was had by all- we can’t wait to try again next year! Thank you to Tyler Bertram for getting our team entered and organized!

Last night, our crew spent the evening sharpening their skills with hands-on pumper training 🚒💪

Training like this keeps our team ready to respond quickly and effectively when our community needs us most. From mastering pump operations to working together under pressure, every drill helps us stay prepared.

A big thank you to all the members who showed up and put in the work!

🌶️🔥 Last night we brought the heat to the Belgrade Lions Club Chili Cook-Off! 🔥🌶️

While we didn’t take home the trophy this year, we had a great time serving up chili, seeing so many friendly faces, and supporting a great cause. The competition was tough — but don’t worry… we’re already thinking about next year’s recipe. 👨‍🍳🚒

2025 review time!

First and foremost, we pray that the Christmas and New Year holidays were good to all of you! Cheers to 2026!

We would also like to sincerely thank our entire Elrosa Fire & Rescue community for your never ending support as we endeavor to continue to provide timely emergency care to our service area in 2026 and beyond.

In 2025 we had 48 total emergency pages-
34 Medical emergencies
7 Motor vehicle accident emergencies
7 Fire emergencies

Of the 7 Fire pages- 5 were mutual aid responses: 3 with Brooten Fire and 2 with Sauk Centre Fire🚒🚒

On the 34 EMR calls- we were assisted by mostly the Sauk Centre Ambulance team, we also had several calls with Brooten Ambulance and the Paynesville Ambulance teams assisting with patient transfer and care! 🚑🚑🚑

A huge shoutout is due to the Life Link helicopter crews as well- thank you for all you do! 🚁🚁🚁

Also, a post like this would be amiss without thanking our local, county, and state law enforcement agencies for continually providing our teams with protection and assisting us with any and all possible scenarios regarding MVA emergencies. Sauk Centre police, Belgrade police, Stearns County Sheriffs Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol were all extremely valuable to us in 2025 and will continue to be so in 2026 and beyond- Thank You! 🚔🚓🚔🚓

As always, we are grateful for ALL of our nearby communities and their emergency response teams, just because we did not work with them on a call in 2025 does not mean we will not be working with them in 2026! We see you and we thank you for the amazing jobs you are doing for your communities!

A few highlights from 2025-

We (with lots of community support) were able to purchase a battery powered set of MVA extraction tools or Jaws of Life. We have put them to use several times and we are amazed at how well they have been performing! Thank you!

We served over 900 people at our annual Steak Fry in October 2025! Incredible turnout!! As per the recent years, the drive thru was a big hit again with over 500 meals going out on wheels😉. Once again- Thank You!!!

In August, along with the Stearns County Sherriff’s Department, we also hosted a Safety in The Park public educational event in 2025- while we do not have actual attendance numbers it was a smashing hit as a lot of people turned up to see all the different agencies that were represented and learn about how they implement their team resources to help serve the public! The bigger highlights were the Stearns County Sherriffs SWAT vehicle🚓and the Life Link helicopter!🚁

We are blessed with a nearly full roster of 26 members, including two new members in ‘25.

Never forget.
With all the distractions in our busy lives it is so easy to forget a terrible day of tragedy. Take a moment to read a story or watch a video highlighting an individual in Ground Zero to remind yourself of the courage and heroism displayed that day!
We remember the lives lost on this day 24 years ago, and we honor the memory of the sacrifice, of their own lives, that so many brave individuals made on that fateful day just trying to save one more soul from the rubble.
We also remember the the days, weeks, and months following 9/11. A nation united, a country that came together as one to rebuild and rebound stronger than ever.
One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all!
