Sales is one of the most rewarding professions - but it can also be one of the most frustrating. https://go.sandler.com/salesgrowthmd/insights/blog/categories/professional-development/selling-successfully-is-mind-over-matter/ - Too many talented salespeople are grinding harder than ever, yet not seeing the results or satisfaction they deserve.

After working with thousands of professionals, I’ve noticed two patterns that hold people back:

1. They’re working way too hard and having way too little fun selling.

2. When success isn’t consistent, the number one reason is all in their head.

We need to talk about #2—because mindset is the silent deal-breaker.

That is by FAR the biggest issue. Self limiting beliefs and "head trash" as we call it at Sandler Training is what's stopping many sales and business professionals from reaching their maximum potential.

Great sales teams don’t happen by accident. They start with great sales leadership.
https://buff.ly/7CxkB3U - As a sales manager, you’re expected to supervise, coach, train, and mentor. But are you doing each one effectively?

One common challenge is confusing coaching with training. Coaching isn’t about fixing your salespeople. It’s about helping them strengthen their skills, build confidence, and perform at their best in an environment built on trust.

Great coaching doesn’t tell people what to do. It helps them discover how to do it better.

We have found there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to developing salespeople. Each team member has a unique “success code,” and effective managers must tap into it to unlock their full potential. Once selling skills and behavior expectations are established, the focus shifts to coaching—helping salespeople apply their skills effectively, not just training them on new ones.

Successful managers spend about 35% of their time coaching, yet many mistake it for training. Coaching is an ongoing process that helps salespeople identify and overcome performance barriers. A key rule? No fixing!

Telling someone how to solve a problem rarely leads to lasting change. Instead, effective coaching follows a structured methodology:

- Identify the real issue through self-assessment and gap analysis.
- Set small, measurable growth goals.
- Translate goals into specific behaviors and schedule them.
- Track progress and adjust as needed.
- Continuously review and refine to ensure long-term success.

LAST CHANCE REMINDER - Be our GUEST Tomorrow and learn HOW to take a closer look at your pipeline and create more predictable sales results before the end of the year. Save your spot: https://buff.ly/93KIBkf

A full pipeline and a healthy pipeline aren't necessarily the same thing.

Stalled deals, weak qualification, and inconsistent prospecting can make revenue forecasts look stronger than they really are, especially for small and mid-sized B2B sales teams where every opportunity counts.

Presented by our Sandler partner - John Rosso - you don't want to miss it!

What’s holding you up?
Is there something in your sales process or pipeline you know needs attention, but you’re not sure how to fix it?

Maybe it’s prospecting, follow-up, accountability, or simply getting your team more consistent.

You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Sometimes getting the right help is the best way to move forward and grow.
It’s actually the first step toward progress.

Where do you want to be five months from now?
It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and lose sight of the bigger goals we want to achieve.

Take five minutes at the end of your day to pause and write down a few things you would like to accomplish over the next five months.

Maybe it’s a business goal, a sales milestone, leadership growth, better balance, or making more time for the people and experiences that matter most.

Then ask yourself:

What would make me feel proud when I look back?

What is one goal I have been putting off?

What actions can I start taking today to move closer to that goal?

Writing your goals down is a great first step. The next step is turning those goals into meaningful actions and staying accountable along the way.

What would success look like for you five months from now? Feel free to share below. We would love to hear from you!
