🚨 USDA is making $7.5 million in grant funding available to support cold chain equipment investments that help food assistance entities temporarily store, effectively package, and distribute fresh, frozen, and minimally processed foods.

Eligible non-profit organizations may apply for the Cold Chain Grants for Emergency Food Assistance Program through https://grants.gov by 11:59 PM ET on Oct. 1, 2026.

Fire danger will be high again this weekend across much of the state. Avoid any actions that could spark a fire. Sign up for local alerts, make sure you have a "go-kit" prepared, and know what to do if you get an alert. Always listen to your local officials for your safety and the safety of first responders.

Recreational drones may seem harmless, but flying one near an active wildfire can force firefighting aircraft to stop operations immediately.

When aircraft are grounded, firefighters lose critical aerial support, allowing fires to grow and putting lives, homes, and first responders at greater risk.

If you see smoke or an active wildfire:
❌ Don’t fly your drone.
✅ Stay clear of the area.
✅ Give firefighting aircraft the airspace they need to protect Montana communities.
