The Fed just raised rates for the first time in three years, and says more are coming. S&P -0.1%, Dow -1.7%, Nasdaq +0.7%. Here is what it means for your plan, in one minute.

There’s a hidden disconnect between your financial plan and your tax bill - it's called The Coordination Gap.

When wealth managers and CPA's operate in separate silos, key savings slip through the cracks. Managing wealth without integrated tax planning means always reacting to last year’s tax bill instead of proactively optimizing for the future.

At Paragon, we integrate in-house CPA tax planning directly into your financial strategy—shifting from reactive tax filing to proactive capital protection.

Is your wealth advisor coordinating with your CPA? Or is there a gap?

Labor Day honors the value of hard work and the careers we build over a lifetime.

When you get to retirement, it’s not about stepping back—it’s about retiring your labor while making your capital work for you. A well-architected financial plan turns the tables, ensuring your wealth generates a paycheck so you can reclaim your time.

This Labor Day, take some time to relax—and know that your wealth can work just as hard as you do.

Last Friday the Fed Chair said there was work to do. This Friday the jobs report
proved him right.

162,000 jobs added in August. The forecast was 55,000. Unemployment held at 4.1%. Yields jumped, stocks faded, and a September rate hike is now close to a
coin flip.

S&P +0.09% | Nasdaq +0.38% | Dow -0.18%

Good news on jobs is being read as bad news for rates.

College Football Edition

The new Fed Chair put a rate hike back on the table. Stocks went up anyway.

Nvidia’s earnings carried tech Thursday. Then Warsh spoke at Jackson Hole Friday and said inflation is still the job. Markets heard hike risk, faded into the close, and still finished the week green.

S&P +0.49% | Dow +0.53% | Nasdaq +0.85%

Next week is jobs week. Friday’s payroll report settles the argument.

Writing a personal check to your favorite charity is the most common way to give, but for families with complex portfolios, cash donations may leave significant tax advantages on the table.

A strategic giving plan ensures your generosity works double duty. By donating highly appreciated stock directly or utilizing a Donor-Advised Fund, you can eliminate capital gains liabilities while maximizing your income tax deductions.

Save this checklist for your next review, or contact our office - we can help you align your charitable giving with your broader tax plan.

The 30-year Treasury hit a 19-year high this week. That’s the whole story.

Stocks didn’t fall on earnings. They fell on bonds. When long-term yields rise, future profits are worth less today, and that hits high-multiple tech hardest.

S&P -1.4% | Dow -0.9% | Nasdaq -2.4%

Next week: Nvidia Wednesday, PCE and Jackson Hole Friday.

Many business owners view their company as their primary retirement vehicle. They put money into operations, assuming their eventual exit will fund the next chapter of their lives.

But paper valuation doesn't automatically translate to a sustainable paycheck in retirement. If market conditions change or your exit timeline is delayed, your financial security may be compromised.

A resilient wealth strategy requires systematically pulling profits out of your business today to build an independent, liquid portfolio that secures your lifestyle - no matter what happens to the company.

Are you balancing company growth with personal liquidity? Not sure? Give us a call!

Should you take Social Security at 62, 67, or wait until 70?

Most online calculators focus entirely on a "break-even analysis" - estimating how long you need to live to make waiting for a bigger check mathematically worth it.

But they completely miss a massive variable: portfolio preservation.

If you delay Social Security until 70 to get that maximum payout, where is your income coming from in the meantime? If you are forced to aggressively drain your personal investment accounts during those early years, you risk permanently damaging your portfolio's compounding power.

Retirement planning isn't about maximizing a single government benefit in a vacuum - it's about protecting your total wealth.
