🔥 After a House Fire – What You Need to Know 🔥
If you’ve just had a fire at your home, I know it feels overwhelming. There’s a lot to learn quickly, and the insurance process can be confusing. Here are a few things that can really help right now:
✅ Save every receipt from anyone who helps at the house.
✅ Have your tenant secure valuables (cash, jewelry, fi****ms).
✅ Ask your insurance adjuster for an advance – at least 3 months of lost rent if you’re a landlord.
✅ Don’t rush to sign contracts for repairs — your budget isn’t clear yet.
✅ Request a copy of your policy – in Colorado, they must provide it within 3 days.
✅ Limit access to the most damaged areas until the cause-and-origin investigation is complete.
👉 Remember: Contractors rebuild houses — but they can’t adjust claims. Insurance companies are paid to save money, not to understand your home. Our job is to protect you, measure your loss quickly, and make sure you get paid what you deserve.
You don’t have to go through this alone. If you need help navigating what’s ahead, call or text me anytime: (303) 328-8234.
