That's what so many parents tell me before we work together. They've tried everything. They've read all the books. They're running on coffee and sheer willpower. And somewhere along the way, they started to believe that rest just wasn't in the cards for their family.

MYTH: "Some babies are just bad sleepers."
THE TRUTH: Sleep is a skill, and skills can be taught. Yes, some babies have more sensitive temperaments. Yes, some have more challenging sleep patterns. But "bad sleeper" isn't a permanent identity. With the right environment, the right schedule, and gentle, consistent support, almost every baby I've worked with has made meaningful progress. I've worked with babies who were up 8-10 times a night. Toddlers who took 45 minutes to fall asleep. Newborns who only napped on mom.
None of them were "just bad sleepers." They just needed a little help learning the skill.

The 4-month sleep regression is REAL!

Here's what's actually happening 👇
Around 4 months, your baby's sleep cycles permanently change to be more adult-like. That means more partial wake-ups between cycles, and if they don't know how to connect those cycles independently, they call for you every time. 😴
This is NOT a step backward, but a sign of healthy brain development. But here's what helps:
- Watch wake windows (at 4 months, aim for 1.5–2 hours awake between naps)
- Create a consistent sleep environment (dark room, white noise)
- Build a short, predictable bedtime routine (even just 10–15 minutes!)
- Practice putting baby down drowsy but awake when you can

You don't have to be nervous as you work through this. If the regression has gone on longer than 2–3 weeks, that's your cue to reach out to me 💛
