It's almost time for t the annual NC Folk Festival! It's free and happening in downtown Greensboro Friday through Sunday. Despite the name, it offers many different genres of music, so there's something for everyone. Check out the link in the comments if you want to learn more!

Haven't got us yet, but they sure have tried.

We’ve all walked through a spider web at some point. You survived and you’re here now, so congratulations: the evidence supports this statement.

If you’re currently stuck in a web while reading this, hey, at least you’re still able to scroll social. Priorities.

Once you’ve escaped, avoid future sticky situations by carrying a stick while hiking. Hold it out in front of you and pretend you’re Gandalf making your way through Middle-earth. YOU SHALL PASS!

You can also take the day off from being a trailblazer and let someone else take the lead. We know, you’re an Aries. Leadership is basically your love language. But you can do this. Let someone else go first.

If they’re fairly tall, even better. Consider them your human web detector. Or sleep in and let the early risers clear the trail for you. You can begin your hike around 10 a.m. and heroically rescue them from the consequences of their poor life choices.

And if you somehow make it through the woods without encountering a web? Congratulations. Aren’t you special? Make the most of the inevitable flailing dance that follows anyway. More passion! More energy! Umm… less passion. Less energy. You’re scaring the spiders.

P.S. The average spider can spin or repair a web in roughly 30–60 minutes. Something to keep in mind if you’re hiking a one-way trail. (Because you may encounter the same spider again. Awkward.)

Taking this survey can help make positive changes regarding mold, like creating higher standards for inspectors and remediators and providing information to people who make policies and enact change. So if you have a few minutes, fill it out! It could do some good.

Taking the survey is step one. Here is what happens next.

Your response becomes part of the first national picture of what consumers actually experience in the mold inspection and remediation industry.

That data gets independently analyzed and published in a full report this fall.

That report goes to lawmakers pushing for certification requirements. To journalists covering consumer protection. To industry organizations working to raise standards and improve outcomes for consumers and professionals alike.

Your 10 to 15 minutes becomes part of something that matters.

We are at 294 responses. We need 2,500 by September 18. Every response closes the gap.

If you're allergic to ragweed, your allergies are probably acting up right now. Avoid bringing pollen into your home after being outdoors by cleaning your shoes (or even better, leaving them outside), changing and washing your clothes, and showering right away.

Just a reminder that batteries (among other things, like household maintenance products) can't be tossed in the trash or recycled. They need to be taken to a specific location for hazardous waste. The one in Greensboro is located at 2750 Patterson Street and is open from 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday and 8 am to 2 pm on Saturdays.
