The Altimeter style Kollsman Window on the IWC Pilot watch has always stirred debate among watch fans. Some love it, and some hate it. But shown here is why it is a rather functional window where you’d still be able to read the date when the hands are covering the date window because it still shows the date before and after.

My Anti-Chronograph is customised based on the elusive and rather secretive test dials that The Coronet would fit on their Cosmographs when it is shipped off to obtain their COSC certification in the 90s/00s, and the dials were never meant to be sold to the public.

WoE made me put this piece on a period correct vintage tropic rubber strap.
I’d also like to debunk the myth that Seiko MACV-SOG models were custom made for the US Military during the Vietnam War. Instead, these were normal production models and were also available as part of the inventory stocked at the PXs.

Since I’m still fawning over Zenith Daytonas, I thought I’d fit my stamped clasp oyster bracelet on the Ghost Panda mod just to have a feel of wearing a 5-digit Cosmograph. Quite pleased with how it turned out, definitely gives it a tool watch vibe without the PCL.

To appreciate vintage watches, one must also understand the importance of wabi-sabi. Do not parrot the imbecilic adage of prioritising “condition, condition, condition” when looking for a vintage watch, because these are words from grubby resellers that want to sell you an unwanted watch for a higher premium.
