You can be profitable on paper and still run out of cash. The goal is to build a business with enough cash available to purchase supplies, meet payroll, serve existing customers, and add new customers without constantly draining your reserves.

Every year, major employers, hospitals, universities, governments and other anchor institutions spend millions of dollars purchasing goods and services.

The question is:

How much of that money stays in the local economy?

Small businesses are the backbone of District 25. But starting a business is not enough. We need businesses that can grow, become stable, create jobs, and keep more of our dollars circulating right here in our community.

That’s why we created the D25 Business Incubator.

Our vision is bigger than individual business success. We are working toward a self-sufficient local economy where our residents own businesses, employ our neighbors, serve one another, and practice group economics by keeping more of our spending within District 25.

This Saturday, Class #9 focuses on Recurring Revenue — helping our entrepreneurs turn one-time customers into predictable monthly income through subscriptions, retainers, and contracts.

Economic development doesn’t only mean bringing businesses into our community. It also means building the businesses already here.
