The 2025 government shutdown is here and home health & hospice providers must prepare. Key risks include:

• Expiration of Medicare telehealth & Hospital-at-Home waivers
• Delays in enrollments, appeals & Final Rule release
• Survey postponements, except for patient safety complaints
• Medicare “Dark Days” beginning Oct 2
• Hospice F2F telehealth authority ending Sept 30

Now is the time to act. Review encounters, document proof of submissions, and stay engaged in advocacy for the Home Health Stabilization Act.

Hospice Face-to-Face Telehealth Ends September 30, 2025: Starting October 1, all face-to-face recertification encounters must be conducted in person. What you need to know:

• Scheduling challenges are expected
• Telehealth visits after Sept. 30 will not count
• Agencies risk losing reimbursement for entire benefit periods
