Back in March, EB Etiquette & Professional Services had the privilege of pouring into 80 incredible people through the Osceola McCarty Wings to Work Program. ✨

We provided soft skills training covering time management, proper introductions, professional handshakes, interview prep, communication, and conflict resolution — equipping participants to show up polished, prepared, and confident as they step into new opportunities.

Moments like this are exactly why I do this work. When people walk away knowing their worth and how to present it — that’s the mission. 💼

💼 Put Your Best Forward 💼

A simple way to show courtesy and professionalism? Be punctual.

For Business Event such as interview or meeting-🕒 Arrive 10–15 minutes before.
This gives you a chance to gather your thoughts, settle your nerves and make a composed entrance.

But did you know for a Social Event such as a dinner party at a friend’s house-🕒 Arrive promptly within 10–15 minutes after the scheduled time.
“Give the host time to breathe.”

⏰ Arriving on time communicates respect for others and their schedule.

🦋PUT YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARD ➡️

Communication Tip #1**
**👀 Mastering Eye Contact**

Making strong eye contact isn’t about staring — it’s about connection. When you’re speaking or listening, meeting someone’s gaze shows confidence, respect, and presence.

✅ Look them in the eye (3–5 seconds is just right)
✅ Nod or respond with expression
✅ Avoid darting eyes or looking at your phone

Whether you’re in an interview, classroom, or casual conversation — eye contact speaks *before* you do.

💬 How comfortable are you with eye contact? Practice makes polished.

A heartfelt thank you to the African American Military History Museum and Ms. Molden for the opportunity to pour into the young men of the Needham Jones Bootcamp through The Gentleman’s Guide: Modern Etiquette for Young Men presentation.

We wrapped up the session with lunch at Buschman Street Café, where the young men enjoyed top-tier service and got to put their newly learned etiquette skills into practice. A meaningful and memorable experience all around!

Why saying Happy Memorial Day Can Be Inconsiderate! 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is a solemn day of remembrance for U.S. military personnel who died in service. While it’s often associated with barbecues, sales, and the unofficial start of summer, its core purpose is to honor and mourn the fallen.

Saying “happy” in relation to a day of mourning can feel dismissive or tone-deaf—especially to veterans, military families, or those who’ve lost someone.

More Thoughtful Alternatives

Instead of “Happy Memorial Day,” you might say:
• “Thinking of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice today.”
• “Honoring and remembering our fallen heroes.”
• “Wishing you a meaningful Memorial Day.”

If You’re Unsure

Context matters. If you’re at a social gathering or speaking casually, people may not take offense. But if you’re speaking to someone with a military background or posting publicly, it’s usually more respectful to acknowledge the day’s significance in a more somber tone.

Thoughts?

Recently, a young hairstylist attacked a customer because she thought she didn’t pay. Now is a good time to have a post or start a conversation around the topic of salon etiquette.
