1885 // Sixth Floor
Take the elevator to the highest floor and the room opens up to a brand new steakhouse, 1885. The new restaurant is a peak into a hidden luxury. The high molded ceilings and intricate stained glass windows make you appreciate the time and effort the new owner has put into the details. All while you enjoy your meal.
The sixth floor is the architectural crown of the building, rebuilt after the 1903 fire by members who decided not just to replace what burned but to build a landmark.
For more than 140 years, Montanans have marked milestones beneath these ceilings. From business meetings to casual friends reconnecting, many have enjoyed what the floor has to offer. Famous guests have included, but not limited to, Norman Maclean, Teddy Roosevelt, William Taft, Mark Twain, John F Kennedy, F Scott Fitzgerald, and Jimmy Carter.
Today the room is 1885, a steakhouse worthy of the address: Certified Angus Beef sourced from over 650 registered Angus ranches across Montana, an 8 oz filet with Café de Paris butter, the 14 oz signature ribeye, Gold Grade American Wagyu striploin from Snake River Farms seared in cast iron. Limited cuts each evening.
