Congratulations Chief Weaver on your retirement. It's always been a pleasure working beside you and your agency. Thank you for you leadership and partnership in protecting the citizens of the Propst Crossroads and Mountain View Communities.
🚒 Thank You, Chief Mike Weaver 🚒
Today, the members of the Propst Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department would like to recognize and thank Chief Mike Weaver as he steps down after 20 years of dedicated service as Fire Chief.
Chief Weaver has faithfully served our department and community for more than 44 years. During his time with the department, he has held numerous leadership positions, including Assistant Chief, Training Officer, and ultimately Fire Chief. In every role, he led with integrity, humility, and a genuine desire to serve others.
For the past two decades as Fire Chief, Mike has been much more than a leader; he has been a mentor, teacher, role model, and friend to generations of firefighters. He has devoted countless hours to ensuring our department remained prepared to answer every call while fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and service.
Under Chief Weaver's leadership, our department experienced tremendous growth and progress. He strengthened relationships throughout the community, increased department membership, expanded training opportunities, maintained a responsible and effective budget, and successfully secured numerous state grants that provided new turnout gear, lifesaving equipment, fire apparatus, and advancements in technology. He also played a key role in adding medical first response services, improving the department's ISO rating, and continually working to enhance the level of protection and service provided to our community. His vision and commitment have left our department stronger, safer, and better equipped for the future.
Chief Weaver's impact reaches far beyond equipment and facilities. He has helped shape generations of firefighters through his leadership, mentorship, and example. His dedication to serving others and his commitment to excellence have created a legacy that will continue to influence our department for years to come.
While Chief Weaver is stepping away from the role of Fire Chief, we're grateful that he plans to remain an active member of the Propst Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department. He also looks forward to spending more time with his grandchildren, fishing on Santee Cooper, and traveling with his family, well-earned time after more than four decades of faithful service.
Chief Weaver, thank you for your leadership, your vision, your countless sacrifices, and your unwavering commitment to this department and the community you have faithfully served. The tremendous impact you've made on the Propst Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department will be felt for generations.
