If you've hosted a Halloween party — or just handed out candy at the door for two hours — you already know how this goes. A fun-size chocolate bar gets stepped on in the entry and ground into the fiber before anyone notices. C***r goes down the stairs. Face paint transfers off a cheek onto the arm of the good chair.

Truck-mounted hot water extraction takes it back out from the backing up, not the surface down. Most homes are dry and back in normal use in 6 to 12 hours.

So enjoy the night. Let the kids have the sugar. We'll handle what's left on the first week of November.
