Turning innovation into therapies starts with rethinking how we manufacture them. On July 23, the BioCytics team joined the G-Rex® Grant Tour in North Carolina for a day of conversations and exploration around the future of cell and gene therapy.

We were especially proud to see our Founder & CEO, Dr. John Powderly II, participate as a panelist during the Business Roundtable, sharing his perspective on biotechnology business models, the future of therapeutic development, and the growing role of Point-of-Care (POC) manufacturing.

Our scientific team also presented a poster highlighting how BioCytics is leveraging G-Rex® technology within our POC manufacturing platform to advance rare cell-based therapies for cancer.

Thank you to the organizers, fellow participants, and everyone who connected with our team throughout the day. We’re excited to keep building partnerships and advancing innovative approaches to cell-based cancer therapies.

BioCytics is proud to announce a strategic alliance with LIDE Biotech to advance screening platforms and companion diagnostics for immune based cancer cell therapies. 🧬

By combining BioCytics’ expertise in patient derived tumor and immune cells with LIDE’s advanced PDX, miniPDX®, and immuno oncology PDX models, this collaboration will help us investigate treatment response, resistance, tumor cell death, and the molecular pathways that shape therapeutic outcomes.

Our initial work will leverage patient derived biospecimens to develop models that can help bridge preclinical research and personalized cancer treatment.

We are excited to explore what this collaboration can uncover and to continue advancing approaches that bring promising immuno oncology research closer to the patients who need it.

This past week, BioCytics Inc was proud to attend the 2026 CMaT Annual Summit, with Gaby Lizana-Vasquez, Ph.D. and Ritvik Satyanarayanan representing our team and connecting with researchers, industry leaders, partners, and innovators from across the field.

Gaby joined the Industry Panel: “The Future of Cell and Gene Therapy Manufacturing,” contributing to an important conversation around the evolving landscape of manufacturing and the opportunities ahead for cell and gene therapies. Beyond the panel, our team had the opportunity to connect with collaborators and colleagues, exchange ideas, and explore new opportunities to advance innovative approaches to cell and gene therapy manufacturing.

🚀 We are thrilled to announce that Rajeev Shrimali, Ph.D., PMP has joined our team as the Vice President of Translational Research Services.

Dr. Shrimali is a translational drug development strategic leader with 20+ years of advancing oncology and immunology programs from concept to clinic through FDA approval across therapeutic modalities. His expertise spans tumor immunology, tumor microenvironment (TME), oncogenic signaling, immune cell interactions, mechanisms of resistance and immune escape, and the development of AI/ML driven biomarker based innovative immune-modulating and targeted therapies and their combinations. He is NCI, Surgery Branch–mentored by Dr. Steven Rosenberg in cellular immunotherapy. With a PMP (PMI) and AI/ML (MIT Sloan) certified; he brings proven cross-functional program and team leadership at global pharma, biotech's, CRO and academia. Dr. Shrimali has transformed program vision into publications, innovative pipelines, business growth and patient benefit.

Biocytics, Inc., in partnership with Carolina BioOncology Institute, PLLC, is proud to announce the launch of an exciting research initiative in collaboration with UNC Charlotte!

Led by principal investigator Richard Allen White III, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Bioinformatics and Genomics at UNC Charlotte, and Renaud Warin, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer of BioCytics, the "Unlocking the Dark Genome of Cancer via Integrated Multi-Omics Platform of Discovery" initiative aims at identifying relevant genomic features that contribute to cancer cell growth and response to treatment.

On June 26, Dr. John Powderly II MD and Dr. Jennifer Montague, PhD represented BioCytics and Carolina BioOncology Institute at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) Biotechnology Strategic Meeting in New York City, bringing together leaders across biotech, biopharma, academia, and regulatory agencies to discuss where cancer immunotherapy is headed next.

The two-day event included an evening gathering at ZS Associates on the 51st floor of the Empire State Building, followed by the Friday Opening Bell ceremony and meetings at the New York Stock Exchange.

The discussions highlighted the current momentum in immuno-oncology, from evolving investment trends and strategic partnerships to the growing role of AI-driven approaches and global collaboration in advancing therapeutic development.

It was also a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with advisory board members of BioCytics Inc, including Dr. Jason Luke, Dr. Jennifer Guerriero, PhD , and Dr. Ross Hoffman, M.D.

As more advanced therapies move closer to broader clinical adoption, it’s becoming increasingly important to think beyond the therapy itself and consider point of care manufacturing to deliver therapies effectively.

That includes questions around:
🏥 treatment infrastructure
⚙️ operational scalability
🌍 regional access
💰 and long-term sustainability
