A recent U.S. executive order declared it “the policy of the United States to promote AI literacy and proficiency among Americans,” making AI education a national priority.

The U.S. has now formally stated it is national policy to promote AI literacy and proficiency for Americans. That’s a big statement, but it raises an even bigger question: who is actually implementing it?

If AI literacy is now “everyone’s job,” it quickly becomes no one’s job.
Districts need:
-Clear definitions of AI literacy by grade band
-Concrete learning experiences, not just policy language

How is your school, district, or organization translating national AI ambitions into daily classroom practice?

Share one example (or one frustration) in the comments; others can learn from what you’re building.

Teacher retention isn't just about salaries, benefits, or recruitment strategies.

It's about culture.

Teachers stay where they feel valued.
Teachers grow where they feel supported.
Teachers thrive where they feel they belong.

When schools intentionally create inclusive environments, something powerful happens:
✅ Stronger teacher retention
✅ Greater staff collaboration
✅ Increased student success
✅ Healthier school communities

The most successful schools understand that diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging aren't initiatives, they're foundational to building workplaces where educators choose to stay and lead.

As educational leaders, we have an opportunity to move beyond simply filling positions and focus on creating cultures where teachers want to build careers.

What is one thing your school or district is doing to create a culture that attracts and retains great educators?

Literacy isn’t just about reading anymore; it’s about reading, writing, and reasoning in a world where AI is rewriting work itself. At the same time, U.S. literacy rates remain stubbornly low and misaligned with workforce needs.

AI could widen the gap or help close it, depending on how we design it:
- Pathways that connect literacy to real careers
- Microcredentials that recognize AI + literacy skills
- Supports for students who’ve been historically underserved

If you could redesign your district’s secondary literacy program from scratch for an AI-shaped economy, what’s one bold change you’d make?
