Could your Mohs lab pass the 5-minute test? 👀

Imagine an inspector walked into your lab tomorrow and asked you to show them your SOPs, competency documentation, QC records, and equipment/reagent documentation.

Could you find everything quickly?

More importantly—could your team explain the processes behind those records?

A strong compliance program isn't about scrambling to prepare when inspection day is approaching. It's about having systems that work every day.

Take the 5-minute test:

✔️ Can you find your current SOPs?
✔️ Can you prove competency?
✔️ Are your logs complete and current?
✔️ Can your staff explain your QC?
✔️ Does your team know what to do when something goes wrong?

If any of those questions made you pause, that's a great place to start.

Mohs lab tips that actually work. 👀

After working alongside Mohs teams in labs across the country, we've picked up a few things that make a big difference in the day-to-day.

✔️ Slow down when you need to
✔️ Keep that cryostat clean
✔️ Stop and troubleshoot when something doesn't look right
✔️ Ask why you're doing something—not just how
✔️ Train before you need the training

And maybe our favorite tip: don't wait until your team is struggling to ask for help.

Sometimes the most valuable training happens right beside the cryostat, with your actual team, equipment, and workflow.

Our techs came ready to learn, ask questions, and sharpen their skills. Today we worked through 1st and 2nd stages, cartilage, troubleshooting techniques, and even put our compliance knowledge to the test!
