☀️The brutal Oklahoma heat isn’t just tough on lawns and landscapes; it can be dangerous (and even fatal) for our pets. 🐶🐱

As temperatures continue to soar, here’s how to keep your four-legged family members safe:

🐾 The 5-Second Test: Place the back of your hand on the ground for 5 seconds. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws! Stick to shady grass and early/late walks.

💧 Keep Water in Deep Shade: Outdoor bowls in the sun heat up fast. Keep fresh water in permanent shade, or toss in a few ice cubes.

🌳 Cooler Turf: Healthy, shaded grass can be up to 15°F cooler than asphalt or concrete. Make sure your yard has accessible shade spots all day!

⚠️ Watch for Danger Signs: Heavy panting, drooling, lethargy, or bright red gums mean it’s time to head straight inside to AC and call the vet.
