Did you know that today is national odometer day?

Our family has had some pretty cool vehicles. Here is a story from owner and winegrower Marty and the family odometer tradition...

"My grandmother passed away early winter 1971. That left her chickens without keepers over the winter. During that period, my dad and I would take care of them in the evening by feeding, watering, and picking up the eggs. One evening, when driving home from the farm, my dad suddenly pulled his car over to the side of the road. He got out, went to the front of the car, and kissed the hood of the car. Unknown to me, he’d just hit 100,000 on that vehicle.

My children learned of this new family tradition, when I did the same when my vehicle hit the 100,000 milestone.

The tradition lived on, when my son, Nic, was in high school. Unfortunately, he was alone, and when he got out of the car, he locked himself out of the car. His parents were several hours away and he had to be rescued by a local police officer who was driving by!

The Sell Family Odometer tradition still lives on!"
